The Deal

Executive Chef Pellegrino Mongillo sharpened his culinary skills under famed local chefs, like Alexander Gorant (AXIA Taverna) and Kevin Oppici (of the award-winning Kevin's Thyme), and brings his 13 years of experience to his namesake Pellegrino's Restaurant & Lounge. For $39, two can try his savory creations with dinner and drinks, regularly $85.

The Culinary Institute of America graduate uses ingredients from local markets to create a menu that is "focused on fresh, seasonal fare with global influences," says DiningOut magazine. With this deal, select:

• Any shared appetizer, with choices like sun-dried tomato feta dip with grilled pita bread, mini meatballs with tomato caper sauce and marinated octopus bruschetta with tomato and balsamic reduction

• Any two entrees, like seafood orzo pasta with scallops, mussels and shrimp; seared hanger steak with roasted red potatoes and sauteed spinach; and roasted free-range chicken with broccoli rabe and white wine herb jus

• Two beers or cocktails, like the Fig-tini with Figenza vodka, Chambord and pineapple juice and the French-tini with vodka, triple sec, and fresh lime and cranberry juices, or a bottle of house-selected red or white wine
