Vouchers can be redeemed starting Monday, July 2, through Jan. 31, 2013. Reservations are required and must be booked 1 week in advance. A 48-hour cancellation policy applies. Must bring voucher with you when you go. Not valid July 4, Sept. 1-3, or the entire months of October and November. Limit 1 voucher per person, but 2 additional may be purchased as gifts. The Deal

For $59, regularly $120, two people can take part in the local "kayak renaissance" hailed by the Times-Picayune with a Pontchartrain Paddle tour from Kayak-iti-Yat. Owners Sonny Averett and Sara Howard will guide paddlers through the entire length of Bayou St. John pointing out local landmarks.

Tours, which were featured in a Wall Street Journal travel article, run past sights such as the New Orleans Museum of Art, 18th-century structures like the Spanish Custom House and the Pitot House, City Park and centuries-old live oak trees.

Or, for $75, regularly $160, get a group of four people together and take a two-hour "Lazy Twilight" paddle.
