The Deal

A "neighborhood charmer" according to Zagat, Tess was named one of Milwaukee's top 30 restaurants by the Journal Sentinel, which said the seasonal American cuisine "lingers in memory." With this deal, two people can sample "outstanding, eclectic" dishes at this East Side bistro with a three-course dinner for $39, normally $84.

Select anything from the rotating seasonal menu:

• Any two starters (called first and second courses on the menu), like crispy pork belly with a chipotle maple glaze, white bean fricassee and arugula; or a crab cake with Creole remoulade, red pepper coulis and an Idaho window pane chip

• Any two entrees, including grilled jumbo sea scallops with a rock shrimp papaya salad, lemongrass-infused forbidden rice and adobo-spiced peanuts; or porter-braised short ribs with wasabi mashed potatoes, glazed carrots and a sweet soy stout sauce

• One dessert to share, such as molten flourless chocolate cake with homemade salted caramel custard or the creme brulee of the week
