The Deal

Iavarone Cafe in New Hyde Park is "always spot-on," says Zagat, which celebrates its home-cooked Italian cuisine giving it a "very good to excellent" (21) food rating. For $25, regularly $49, two can savor lunch for two with drinks at this restaurant that earns 4.5 stars from Urbanspoon users. 

Lunch is available any day but Sunday and includes:

• One shareable appetizer like mozzarella caprese with beefsteak tomatoes and fresh basil, grilled polenta with Gorgonzola and mushrooms, and fried calamari with spicy tomato sauce (up to $9)

• Two sandwiches, wraps or pastas like the el gaucho wrap with grilled sirloin steak and pico de gallo; lobster ravioli with shrimp, asparagus and fresh tomato; and the cafe chicken sandwich with grilled chicken, mozzarella and tomato on rosemary ciabatta bread

• Two beers, glasses of house wine, sodas, coffees or teas (up to $5 each)
