The Deal

Stay in a 13th-century former monastery in the center of Prague for $299 per night. Listed in Condé Nast Traveller's 2012 Gold List and a Leading Hotel of the World, the property is close to Prague Castle and the 14th-century Charles Bridge that links Old Town's cobbled streets with the historic Malá Strana district on the banks of the Vltava River. Part of the hotel is housed in the Augustinian St. Thomas Monastery, where several practicing friars still live. Guests can take exclusive tours of the monastery’s private library.

As well as a glass-covered courtyard restaurant, the hotel has two bars: in the monastery’s former refectory and in the cellar of the monastery brewery, which still has evidence of 17th-century stalactites and stalagmites. The bedrooms all have views over the courtyards, the monastery chapel or Prague Castle, and the spa facilities include a hammam, a relaxation area and a gym.
