The Deal

Explore the waterways of Galveston by kayak with this Local Deal for Artist Boat -- a non-profit organization that works to restore and maintain the marine environments on the Texas coast. For $27, book a four-hour guided tour including equipment rental at one of nine Galveston locations, regularly $53. Or for $50, book a tour for two people and plan a trip with a friend at more than half off the regular price.

This tour includes:

• Guided instruction around Galveston waterways, such as Christmas Bay, Armand Bayou Coastal Preserve and Galveston Island State Park; all lead guides are ACA-certified kayak instructors with degrees in science or art

• All equipment rental

• A break, which includes a watercolor demonstration from one of Artist Boat's resident artists and the chance to create a painting of your own

Reservations must be made online by visiting the Artist Boat website. Buy multiple vouchers and plan a family outing this fall. Directions and a list of items to bring will be sent by email after making a reservation.

Terms and Conditions
Vouchers can be redeemed starting Tuesday, Sept. 18, through Dec. 15, 2012. Reservations are required and subject to availability. Reservations must be made online. Voucher is subject to forfeiture if you cancel or reschedule your reservation with less than 24 hours' notice. Not valid on major holidays or holiday weekends. Must be at least 7 years of age to participate. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Subject to weather conditions.
