The Deal

Named one of 2011's Best Detroit Restaurants by Zagat, The Whitney mansion has been a Detroit landmark for over a century and a fine dining destination since the late 1970s. Just in time for fall and the holiday season, Travelzoo has negotiated a deal on high tea at this storied, turn-of-the-century mansion for $29, regularly $58.

High Tea is served throughout the mansion. Small bites and pastries are served on hand-painted china during this formal experience, which includes:

• A duo of scones accompanied with preserves
• The Whitney signature shrimp bisque
• Tea sandwiches, including roast beef, smoked salmon, and tomato and cucumber
• Hand-crafted pastries by The Whitney's pastry chef

High tea makes for a great mother-daughter outing, a fun day with grandparents or a holiday trip. Buy two vouchers and have tea with a group of four people. This deal is valid through the end of December.

Travelzoo Tip: The Detroit Institute of Arts is located nearby The Whitney and is a great destination before or after high tea. Residents of Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Counties receive free unlimited general admission to the museum.

Vouchers can be redeemed starting Friday, Sept. 28, through Dec. 28, 2012. Reservations are required and subject to availability. Reservations must be made 48 hours in advance. The voucher is valid for high tea for 2 people only. Limit 1 voucher purchase per person; additional vouchers may be purchased as gifts. Limit 2 vouchers per table. High Tea is served Monday through Friday only with 48 hours notice. Not valid for bridal showers. Not valid on major holidays or holiday weekends. Valid for dine-in only. Seasonal items are subject to change. An automatic 20% gratuity and Michigan sales tax will be added to the full value of the check.
