The Deal

Metro Times recently named The Earle the "Best Romantic Restaurant" in the county, saying the Ann Arbor eatery is the "perfect spot for a candlelit dinner for two." Zagat ranks the Italian and French cuisine "very good to excellent" (23), and praises the “'brilliant" and "deep, varied" wine list. For $49, receive dinner for two people including wine, regularly $103.

This deal includes:

• Any appetizer to share, such as spicy sautéed shrimp with garlic, rosemary and white wine; cheese-filled tortellini baked with prosciutto and freshly grated nutmeg; or roasted garlic served with crostini 
• Two entrees, like sea scallops with sautéed mushrooms and garlic plus a sherry cream sauce; or grilled Delmonico steak served with two sauces -- Dijon-green peppercorn and mushroom soubise (up to $29.95 each)
• Two glasses of wine from a list that has been awarded a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence for more than 20 consecutive years (up to $14.50 each)

The Earle features live jazz five nights a week and starts serving dinner at 5:30 p.m. (5:45 p.m. on Saturday).
