The Deal

"There is much to love" about Gui Korean Japanese Bistro and Bar, according to the Dallas Observer, and Citysearch, Urbanspoon and TripAdvisor users all agree, giving the Uptown eatery a 4-star-or-better rating. With this Local Deal, two people get full reign of nearly the entire menu with this special family-style five-course dinner for $39, regularly $80.

Choose from nearly every option on the menu, including chef Kevin Cha's creative sushi options:

• Any appetizer, like seared albacore, Korean "Man-doo" dumplings with beef and pork or yellowtail sashimi (excludes sashimi sampler)

• Any dinner salad, like a spring mix topped with assorted sashimi and a mustard soy dressing, or a salad topped with fried tofu and a cream sesame dressing

• Any sushi roll, such as the Popcorn Lobster Roll or the Dragon Fire

• Any entree, such as Korean-style short rib with house-made barbecue sauce; thinly sliced rib eye steak with noodles, mushrooms and carrots; or salmon steak marinated with teriyaki sauce

• Any dessert like ice cream flavored with green tea or plum wine and wrapped in pound cake

Gui is located on McKinney Avenue near popular Dallas bars such as the Blackfriar Pub and The Ginger Man. For $75, regularly $160, a group of four can hit up this sushi hot spot before heading out for a night on the town and dine for less than $19 a person.
