The Deal

The Xtreme Xperience is coming to the Autobahn in Joliet in August, and with it comes the opportunity to accelerate around the track at high speeds in one of five exotic supercars. For $159, regularly $399, strap into the driver's seat and hit the gas with this Local Deal for a two-hour driving experience including three laps around the track.

Drivers can get behind the wheel of a Lamborghini Gallardo, a Ferrari F430, an Audi R8 or a Porsche 911. After registration, check out the cars and take photos with all the vehicles before a classroom session detailing how the cars handle, special details about braking and acceleration in a high-powered vehicle, and turn-by-turn track information to help plan the vehicle's approach through the curves. An instructor will sit next to the drivers and help them get the best performance (and highest speeds) out of their vehicle during the experience.

For $259, regularly $798, subscribers can purchase two driving experiences, which can be redeemed by one person for a drive in two different cars, or by two people who'd each like to receive a driving experience. Want to remember your drive exactly as it happened? For an extra fee, drivers can leave with a high-definition video shot from the dashboard of the car during their three-lap trip; photo packages are also available. Vouchers can be redeemed Aug. 23-26, 2012. Reservations are required. To reserve, visit thextremexperience.com, click "Book" and input your voucher code into the promotion code field. Then follow site instructions to select your preferred location, vehicle, date and time, and level of insurance. After checkout, a confirmation email will be sent to confirm your reservation. Must print voucher and present upon arrival to redeem. Must be 21 years old or older to participate. Liability insurance is required for all drivers and requires an additional fee. Riders younger than 21 but older than 10 years old can participate in a ride-along drive. No one under 10 years old will be allowed to participate. Must sign waiver.
