The Deal

The Pecan in College Park serves traditional Southern fare that Dining Out magazine says is "ingeniously united with the bold flavors" of Indian, Cajun, French and Italian cuisine, and the Atlanta Tribune included it in their Best of Atlanta list last year. For $49, receive dinner for two including two soups or salads, entrees and a dessert to share, normally $94.

The restaurant takes its name from chef Tony Morrow's love of Southern cooking and pecans (his mother baked them into treats for him in college). Try his globally infused cuisine at Pecan with:

• A soup or salad each, like the leek and asparagus soup with chive Chantilly creme that Gayot calls "delightful," or the Field of Greens salad with mesclun, lemon-roasted pears, candied pecans, Maytag bleu cheese and herb vinaigrette dressing

• Two main courses, such as oven-roasted buttermilk pecan chicken with a sweet potato puree and sauteed haricot verts; the Tybee Island crab cakes with spicy Creole aioli and garlic mashed potatoes; or the pepper-crusted New Zealand lamb chops finished with a balsamic reduction (up to $30 each)

• One of Chef Morrow's house-made desserts, like the signature Southern pecan pie, the chocolate decadence cake or the sorbet flavor of the day
