For just $79 a night, stay blocks from Fisherman's Wharf in historic downtown Monterey. The Monterey Hotel is shaving 30% off regular rates. Guests also receive daily continental breakfast and in-room wireless Internet.

Stay Sunday-Thursday through Dec. 16. Weekends are $30 more per night, when rates usually double in Monterey.

The 106-year-old Monterey Hotel features Victorian-style decor with handcrafted wood furniture and antiques. It sits on popular Alvarado Street, which is home to several restaurants and busy nightlife. The hotel is about a five-minute drive from Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
