Finding San Francisco Hotel Deals
No trip to California is complete without a stop in “The City by the Bay.” Only seven miles by seven miles, San Francisco packs a lot of charm and character into a pretty small square footage. “The City” is seeping with history and is full of a number of iconic monuments including The Golden Gate Bridge, Coit Tower, Alcatraz and the Transamerica Building.
San Francisco has mild temperatures year round. Summer and early fall are the best times to visit the city. Always pack layers because you never know when a thick fog layer is going to roll in and blanket the city.
The greatest mix of hotels is in Union Square or Fisherman’s Wharf. Union Square is packed with shops, and Fisherman’s Wharf is a great spot to grab chowder in a sourdough bowl. Both locations provide easy access to all areas of the city via public transit. A number of posh hotels are atop Nob Hill including The Ritz-Carlton, Fairmont San Francisco, The Intercontinental Mark Hopkins and The Scarlet Huntington.
It’s easy to get to San Francisco from most all locations. The Bay Area has three airports to choose from – San Francisco International Airport, Oakland International Airport and Mineta San Jose International Airport. All have public transit options that can get you to the city in a timely fashion.
