For $99 per night, follow in the footsteps of British and Dutch aristocrats with a stay at this historic 4-star Curacao hotel.

The Avila Hotel's lobby sits in an 18th-century mansion, a former home of British and Dutch governors. For the last 40 years, members of the Dutch royal family have stayed at the hotel during official visits.

Curacao, an island north of Venezuela known for its diving spots, is outside the Caribbean hurricane belt. So, summer and fall are less prone to rain than nearby islands. Visit for these nightly prices:

  • $99 through August (reg. $240)
  • $150 September-October (reg. $270)
  • Slightly more for a larger Octagon Deluxe room (most have ocean views)

The beachfront hotel has several buildings, with three restaurants, three bars and a spa spread among the property. Take a five-minute taxi ride to downtown Willemstad and view the famous pastel-colored buildings.

Not available on: July 21-26 (for the $99 Belle Alliance rooms only); Sept. 1-4 for all rooms

Travelzoo Tip: American Airlines just discounted flights from Miami to Curacao; book by July 8 for travel in September and beyond.

Book by July 13.
Restrictions may apply.
