Which Airlines Fly to Traverse City?Cherry Capital Airport (TVC) in Traverse City is a small public airport only connected to a handful of destinations. Most of the year, you can only fly direct to Traverse City from Chicago via American Eagle and United Express, and from Detroit and Minneapolis via Delta Connection. During the summer travel season, additional routes are available from New York via American Eagle and Delta Connection, and from Denver via United Express. If your flight to Traverse City originates anywhere else, it will have to connect in one of these cities, most likely Chicago or Detroit. Traverse City Flight Tips The nearest major airport is Gerald R. Ford International in Grand Rapids, two and a half hours south by car.
