The Feathers Hotel is in the centre of picturesque Ludlow, a historic Medieval market town. John Betjeman, former poet laureate of the UK, once described it as "probably the loveliest town in England".
The property features an ornate half-timbered façade that dates back to 1619.
Expect "imaginative dishes" in the restaurant, which received an AA Rosette for culinary excellence.
You could choose chicken or beef for your roast, with roasties, seaonal veg, and gravy all included. Fish and veggie options are also on offer, including salmon wellington and potato gnocchi.

we had a few issues which resulted in the manager offering us a return visit. The manager dealt with us very well after experiencing the problems.

My wife and I had a nice lunch at Feathers Hotel, we think that the Hotel must have a very good recruitment process because all of the staff we have met (we have been twice now, staying at the Hotel the first time) have been pleasant, efficient and poisitive (a good 'can do' attitude) and we aren't normally that lucky!

We have dined here before and had no qualms in booking again . It is a lovely building and staff were courteous

Limited Menu .We ordered Chicken and leek suet pudding and received beef suet pudding with a raw leek . Our table was in a thoroughfare with delivery staff passing us regularly on their way to a service lift . people passed us on their way to the toilets. when the door opened from the car park cold air assailed us . The hotel reception was close by and it was very busy receiving incoming calls .

Late lunch in a period building full of character. Efficient, friendly booking. Beautiful food and customers well spaced. Waiter was attentive without being intrusive. We both really enjoyed the experience. Ludlow is a lovely market town and there was a local produce market we could wander around in addition to a good range of shops and a castle

We have purchased vouchers in previous promotions and had been quite pleased.
However, this time, the menu has been unchanged throughout the offer period and as we had ordered several vouchers, it has got to feel rather repetitive. We went yesterday, with two friends, and it really wasn’t very good. We did complain about the first course, as it was not as described (just a few lettuce leaves on a plate). They did present us with the first course as described on the menu after we sent it back and did offer us a complimentary drink by way of an apology which we declined, as we had not complained just to get something for nothing.
What really disappointed us, was the attitude that it was hardly worth their while to provide the meal for the price they were charging, to which I suggested that if they felt that way perhaps it would be better not to offer such a promotion.
I have only indicated we would return as we have two remaining vouchers.

We had a long wait between the first course which was excellent and the second course which was a bit mediocre. My stuffed suet was slightly overcooked and was a bit dry and my husbands burger wasn't really warm enough all the veg was lovely it was a shame really as they didn't appear very busy.
The place itself is obviously very old but the décor in the front room really needs a make over to make it more welcoming.
Staff were lovely . It was basically the mediocre main meal and the 30 mins wait between courses which let it down.

Didn't have our booking. Couldn't sit in the restaurant we had our lunch in one of the lounges very squashed and not particularly comfortable. The service was appalling . Nearly 2 hours for our meal. Gave us the wrong wine so we had to pay for it. Very disappointing.

Two course meal for two (starter and main). A limited choice of dishes, but very well prepared and presented. We asked to exchange the choice of red or white wine for Prosecco. This was done without any fuss or additional charge.

The Feathers is a beautiful Tudor building located in the heart of Ludlow. Typical of buildings of this age, it is a little dark inside and a bit rickety. The room we were shown to was small with only 3 or 4 tables and we remained the only occupants for the duration of our meal. We had the impression that we were kept separate from other diners, probably because we were on a restricted menu. We did not have the opportunity to explore other areas of the hotel.

The old hotel has a lot of character and charm , but the secondary double glazing on the front windows is ugly , does the job of keeping out noise but the dirt and cobwebs certainly need to be sorted !! Spoils the look of the room .
