Great value. Good location. Rooms are standard and as expected. Enjoyed the breakfast but the evening meal was too salty and served in a decidedly chilly room. I would not have an evening meal here again.

Didn’t realise that the hotel is being run by the liquidator. As a result there seems to be a shortage of staff especially at breakfast time. Because of this the breakfast was overcooked, dry and not very warm. Evening meal was reasonable but ate out of hotel on second night in the village of Castle Donnington where there are several restaurants to choose from. Room was on the small side and a bit grubby. Also we were there on the two hottest days of September and there was no air conditioning. Would have been nice to be told that due to COVID, there would be no one cleaning the room during our stay. Also we had to query our bill at the end of our stay as there were charges included on it that we didn’t incur. Suggest it better to pay as you go in the bar and restaurant or keep a log of what you have, as we did, so that you can reconcile the final bill.
Other Comments
The location is very pleasant on the river, but as the airport is only a 5 minute drive away there is quite a bit of noise when plane land and take off.
