I was very dissappointed with our room with two single beds. It was very small, had no mirror apart from bathroom. I thought the price for that room should have been much lower as all the other rooms were much bigger and nicer

We were the only guests on the first night. No evening meal available. Unexpected!! Evening meal on 2nd night spoilt by managers piano playing. This reduced conversation possibilities.

Although we enjoyed our stay things could have been better. We had our evening meal in the great hall and it was very cold even though there was an open fire, just couldn’t feel any heat from it. It took forever for the food to arrive and by the time we had finished eating we were frozen. On returning to the room there was no heating on, fortunately the staff were very apologetic and brought us an electric heater. heat from it.Our room was in the servants quarters with no view at all as the very small window was up in the roof wouldn’t recommend staying in these rooms

needs tweaking here and there. very dark at night as you have to go out for your proper lighting. the night of the meal we were in a room full of hard benches that hadnt been removed from a previous wedding venue and we had to sit on them throughout our meal..not cosy at all..shower played up and not enough staff..lovely castle with lots of history and beautiful breakfast this morning with a long dining table in the lovely room as it should have been when we had our meal..not enough staff to remove all the wooden benches..therefore no great hall to sit in like the last time we visited..needs a good tweak.
