"We were absolutely thrilled with everything at Goldsborough Hall. A stunning building, immaculately maintained. The staff were all friendly but maintaining a professional manner. The room was excellent, well equipped and very comfortable bed. The best thing was the food. We have been lucky to eat In some excellent restaurant around the world and the food here is up there with the best we’ve had. Shall definitely return."

Went to the hotel as an overnight stop on the way to collect a new puppy.

Staff were all very friendly and went out of their way to be interested in the reason for us staying at the hotel. We now know that the hotel is dog friendly so we will be able to take our new puppy away with us when we want to visit again.

We stayed at this hotel which is set in a very grand old estate house about 40 minutes drive from York. We had a lovely en suite room(Ramsay) which was spacious and very well appointed with good sized cupboards and a 50” TV. Tea making with fresh milk in the fridge which was a nice touch and there was a well stocked mini bar. The bathroom was very modern and was spotlessly clean with everything needed. The bar was a large room full of Chesterfields with a blazing log fire. Very peaceful and comfortable. For dinner we chose the 5 course tasting menu which was superb throughout and was nicely presented & served. Quite a romantic experience in a grand dining room with tastefully soft background music. Breakfast was excellent with an excellent choice of cooked food served to the table. A lovely well run hotel for couples and small groups with bags of old fashioned atmosphere. Highly recommended.

The total experience. Superb food, excellent service and beautiful surroundings. The Hall itself is wonderfully authentic yet very homely and comfortable. The grounds are lovely with carpets of snowdrops and aconites. Definitely one of the best hotels we have stayed in. We shall definitely return to this gem.
