Thought the food was too fancy and small portions for the price e.g. 2 small pieces of chicken in middle of big plate sitting on some sort of green stuff no potatoes or anything else.

Lovely pub in a quiet, rural village. Warm welcome and nice room. Nice sun terrace on back of pub overlooking countryside. Good quality food. The special 3 course evening meal was good quality but the main course came without any potato ‘s . We found this disappointing as did the couple sitting next to us. For this reason we decided not to eat in on our second night as my husband was left feeling hungry at the end of his meal. Breakfast excellent.

Would have given this 5 stars if it wasn’t for the lack of substance in the main course - would it hurt to have added some potatoes , pasta or rice ?

Excellent although we did pay extra to upgrade our room as the only room available for the dates we required was a dog friendly room which was unsuitable.

We really enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation in recommending to family and friends.

Lovely food and service however very expensive, on the first night we were presented with the usual menu for our inclusive meal luckily I checked as we were then told there was a set very limited menu and had to pay to have potatoes with it otherwise would have been chicken and veg.
Other Comments
We were told menu changed daily however on second night the menu was exactly the same unfortunately we’d already ordered a drink so couldn’t drive elsewhere and there aren’t any others nearby

It was lovely to look out on the sheep in the fields and the village was pleasant to walk through. The staff were pleasant.

We were looking forward to good food after reading the reviews, my plaice looked like a dead fish on the plate and was smothered with salty samphire. Hardly any fish on it. Breakfast was sparse, bacon not good and we waited a long time on the second morning with no apology or explanation. We were given the wrong information about the bus service, being remote we didn't want to drive and missed the bus as we were told there wasn't a service. We woke up boiling hot on the first night, the heating was on full!! Boiler was noisy. No cake to have with a cup of tea.
