The country inn uses seasonal ingredients to create its menu. Dishes are made with fresh produce and locally sourced meat from butchers across the Southwest.
It's just a five minutes' drive away from the picturesque village of Castle Combe. A number of movies, including "Dr Dolittle" and Steven Spielberg's "War Horse", were filmed there.

Wonderful Menu and incredible presentation of meals, although serving starters on slates instead of plates is not a great idea! Quality of food is excellent except the sirloin steaks can be a a little too grisly.

The food was lovely but expensive for a pub as was the bottle of Prosecco. The starter at £12.50 served 1 scallop which was grossly overpriced. The main meal was delicious. The service was good and the ambience pleasant

The staff were friendly, helpful and personable. The food was excellent, presented beautifully. One criticism is the portion amount for the starters. One of our group had scallop, just one small one on the plate, lot of greenery. Some of us had poached pear, tiny minute pears, lot of greenery again. Another had smoked salmon, just a few slivers, these are our only comments.

A spacious dining area with plenty of tables. Friendly waitress / barmaid, working on her own but doing so efficiently. Not much choice within the TravelZoo allowance, but several more which were a bit more expensive but you just paid the difference. A lot of interesting combinations of flavours. and all the food was attractively presented. We asked for bread with our salads, and were not charged for it.

We have been here before and had a fabulous experience and that's why we went back. I don't know if tbey have a new chef or if tbe main chef was on holiday, but tbe food was definitely not as good. The starters were nice, the mains were OK, but 2 of tbe desserts were awful. Especially The Old House at Home edible flower dessert, which was nearly all marzipan and buttercream. Very strange! On this occasion the service was particularly slow too. Based on this experience, we would not go back
