The country inn uses seasonal ingredients to create its menu. Dishes are made with fresh produce and locally sourced meat from butchers across the Southwest.
It's just a five minutes' drive away from the picturesque village of Castle Combe. A number of movies, including "Dr Dolittle" and Steven Spielberg's "War Horse", were filmed there.
The property gets a 97% approval rating from members who've visited on a previous offer. Visitors praise the "exceptional food" and "excellent service" in an "outstanding venue".

The main issue was there was little choice to stay within the price for both starter and mains. We only had soft drinks but still paid an extra £18.

We have been here before and had a fabulous experience and that's why we went back. I don't know if tbey have a new chef or if tbe main chef was on holiday, but tbe food was definitely not as good. The starters were nice, the mains were OK, but 2 of tbe desserts were awful. Especially The Old House at Home edible flower dessert, which was nearly all marzipan and buttercream. Very strange! On this occasion the service was particularly slow too. Based on this experience, we would not go back

The food was delicious and beautifully presented. However, due to the cost of dishes. The menu was very limited if you were to stick to the voucher cost.
The menu was varied, but still contained pub classics. The service was quite slow. It was 40 minutes before our starters arrived.?

This lovely country pub is comfortable and well laid out with coy corners and nooks for quiet meal. Great staff giving good service and the food is simply great. My small pears wine soaked stuffed with salad was delicious. My pan-fried venison was possibly best I’ve ever had and I often choose elsewhere. Hope they’ll be on TRAVELZOO again!

What a treat to visit menu was interesting all looked appetising difficult choices to make.
Food when delivered was exceptional one of the best meals we have had for some time.
Staff were very helpful and attentive.

Menu changed from straight forward, well-cooked meals to fancy fair. Mushroom soup had pansies floaring in it with unidentified oils/purees and barely tasted of mushroom. Fish and chips boasted ginger and tartare sauce and chilli snd mint peas. Pork belly now 'Chinese pork belly' served on rice. Little choice on menu too of dishes within the monetary amount specified on the voucher.

The OHH currently has an exceptional chef. Both the food and its' presentation is superb. In addition, the staff are welcoming and polite. The pub serves a good range of beers and wine but is never very busy at lunchtime which is sad because (using a Travelzoo voucher) its' excellent value for money. Having said that, we would visit in the evening (and pay full price) if it was a special occasion.

Over the years, we have eaten at the OHH quite a few times and the standard of the food and service has been very patchy to say the least. Our recent visit was the 5th in the past 6 months and the last 4 of these visits have been outstanding. Clearly a good chef and staff make all the difference.
We like that there is no "Travelzoo" menu but, instead, the offer has a price limit for the starters and main courses. So, (on the day) you choose from the main menu and (if you go over the set limit) you are charged the difference between the cost of that and the offer price. In other words, choose what you want and be prepared to pay the extra cost in necessary.

An interesting menu with several choices within the offer price points. Could pay the difference if selecting a dish that was more; so for an additional £5 I opted for the venison loin steak. Cooked to perfection and beautifully presented.

My husband and I had lunch in the restaurant on 6th May. The service was excellent and the food exceptional. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming and bringing our dog was no problem at all. I am sorry it’s taken me so long to discover this little gem.

A very enjoyable lunch for 5 couples. Friendly telephone booking with Ashley and Tyler. A warm welcome and good service by Freya on the day. The food presentation has been elevated, and everyone enjoyed their starter and mains.

we appreciated extending this offer to a larger party of 10 diners. The bill layout was much clearer than on previous visits. Long may TZ offers be available, but I would happily pay the regular amount for the quality of the food and service.
