Lovely atmosphere in the blue boar inn. Staff attentive and professional. The food was excellent, well presented and cooked perfectly. Will definitely be returning.

Location and quality of meal was excellent. We sat outside in the courtyard on a sunny Sunday afternoon which was lovely. Unfortunately the experience was spoilt by a male waitor who was very abrupt and clearly stressed. We didn't feel welcome as Travelzoo customers.

The only exclusion on the voucher was Mothers Day. I therefore booked for Easter Sunday and at 21.39 on the Saturday the manager contacted me to say they were not allowing Travel Zoo vouchers to be used the next day. I e mailed back my disappointment as I had arranged for family to come with us for the meal and at such late notice I had no options as everywhere would be booked up and no supermarkets would be open on Easter Sunday to buy meat in order for me to cook. The manager phoned in the morning and we agreed, after me stressing all night, to accommodate us at 3pm ( the original booking was for 1pm). When we arrived he then stated that he would need to charge an extra £6 per person on top of the voucher as it was a special Easter menu. I felt I had little option but to agree, although I thought it was quite underhand as he hadn’t mentioned that in our telephone conversation.The food was ok but nothing special and the service was poor. We were outside in the glass dining room which was lovely but the staff seemed to forget about us and we had to keep popping indoors to ask for service. When the bill was made up the manager had charged us an extra £10 per person which my husband then had to dispute before it was taken off and changed to the agreed £6. All the stress re booking, the distinctly average food, poor service, extra charges and then attempting to overcharge frankly left me unimpressed and I will not be back or recommend it to others.

Although I had booked in advance, they had no reservation in our name. However, they managed to find a table.

Sunday lunch was very good, staff were attentive and the pub is lovely.

The meal was lovely - wholesome food locally sourced. The staff were polite - not particularly welcoming but ok. They were quite busy so forgot to smile shame as it takes only one second and makes such a difference. The food, however, was outstanding with vegetables al dente. Lovely.

Got off to a tricky time when the voucher wasn't used to book the table as I had booked direct.

The meal was lacking in vegetables,half a carrot, quarter off a parsnip and uncooked beans.Should have been asked if we wanted the Yorkshire pudding.Less meat more vegetables

Great food at a great offer vouchers

Food was amazing, great taste, presented beautifully and good quntity, plus options to have something a little different, from the very comprehensive menu. Building was full of charm, and nice that the front of the menu gave you a short history of the place. The restaurant was faily full, but the service was very slow and the only thing that spoilt it, was that the staff seemed very unfriendly, didn't smile or chat at all.

Slightly out of the way, but once there, good size car park, off the road.

Fantastic standard oof cuisine both the Indian and typical English dishes My duck was simply sublime and my partner said it was the best Indian dish he’d ever had!

Good food, nice atmosphere, friendly host. All in all, great value for money. Would have liked choice of main + dessert rather than just main+ starter.
