Bishopsgate House Hotel was built as a Georgian townhouse in 1760. It retains interesting period features, including wood panelling, antique furniture, and a Chinese Chippendale staircase.
The property has views of Beaumaris Green, the Menai Strait, and Snowdonia National Park. Beaumaris Castle was built by King Edward I in the 13th century. It is five minutes' walk from the hotel.
Almost all of Anglesey's coastline is classed as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path is the best ways to experience it first hand. Route maps for each of the 12 sections can be found online. Hikes from Beaumaris to Penmon Point, to spot Puffin Island, take less than two hours.
Ynys Llanddwyn is a picturesque spot and a 40-minute drive from the hotel. The ruined church was once home to Saint Dwynwen, the Welsh patron saint of lovers.

Due to a little bit of a mix up when we were checking available dates (before buying the voucher) the Hotel needed to change our start date by one day. To compensate we were given a better room than those normally on offer with travel zoo deals. Really pleased with the room we were given.

Bishopsgate House is an old house dating from 1755 so lots of unique and interesting features. The car park is compact and not very easy to find.

One of the few hotels in Beaumaris with onsite parking, which is a real bonus. Check-in was simple, room very adequate although sloping floor meant the bed wasn't level, leading to a poor sleep. (I like a level bed!). Dinner was freshly cooked and delicious, and breakfast was good. It was also served to the table, so much nicer than the self service of so many places these days.

Staff very friendly and knowledgeable, leading to an exceptional value for money 2-night break.

My wife and I spent only a one-night stay at the Bishopsgate House but we have to say that it was a very enjoyable experience. The accomodation is dated in a number of ways but this increases its charm.
The staff were excellent, friendly and extremely helpful. The evening meal and breakfast were really enjoyable.
As you will have realised, my wife and I were impressed and would definitely pay another visit.

Booked this hotel for our 45th wedding anniversary. It turned out to be an excellent choice as we really enjoyed our all too brief stay. The staff were friendly. The room spacious and welcoming. There was a sherry and chocolates in the room which was a nice touch. The evening meal and breakfast were top quality. All in all all a really enjoyable experience. Thank you all.

Visitng this hotel felt like going back in time. Back to when customer service was paramount. Back to a time of linen table cloths. Back to a time when quality mattered.
The hotel is very well run, with a warm and friendly welcome and friendly, efficient staff. The food in the restaurant is superb, you can tell that quality ingredients are used and that the chef knows what they are doing! Both our evening meal, that was included in the deal, and our two breakfasts were very tasty. The staff are clearly happy in their work and chat with guests whilst carrying out service. It seemed that nothing would be too much trouble.
We did have a hiccup on arrival when we found we didn't have a booking (one of my emails wasn't received by the hotel and, with hindsight, I hadn't had a confirmation email) but Hazel, the business owner, dealt calmly and efficiently with the problem with the end result being a lovely couple of days. I only mention this as I always believe that the way problems are dealt with says a lot about how much a business cares about their customer. And the way Hazel dealt with this shows she cares very much about her guests.
If we are fortunate enough to visit Anglesey again we'll definitely return to Bishopsgate House.

The furniture in the room was outdated. The dressing table needed serious attention (room 4) if not throwing out altogether, as it wobbled when opening drawers. The bed moved when you lent against it causing husband to almost fall to floor. Bulbs missing in lampshade.
