More Reasons to Go
- Bishopsgate House Hotel was built as a Georgian townhouse in 1760 and retains interesting period features, including wood panelling, antique furniture, and a Chinese Chippendale staircase.
- The property has views of Beaumaris Green, the Menai Strait, and the majestic mountains of Snowdonia National Park.
- The hotel's "intimate" restaurant is "full of old-world charm" (The AA) and holds an AA Rosette for culinary excellence.
- Head to Beaumaris Castle, built by King Edward I in the 13th century and five minutes' walk from the hotel.
- Almost all of Anglesey's coastline is classed as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path is one of the best ways to experience it first hand, with route maps for each of the 12 sections found online. A hike from Beaumaris to Penmon Point, where you'll be able to spot Puffin Island, takes less than two hours.
- Ynys Llanddwyn is a picturesque spot, thanks to the romantic ties of its ruined church (once home to Saint Dwynwen, the Welsh patron saint of lovers) and sandy cove. It's a 40-minute drive from the hotel.

The hotel and staff was warm and welcoming. They serve a hearty breakfast that sets you up for the day.
We had a lovely evening meal on our second night and can recommend the beef bourguignon as it was delicious.
We stayed in room 11, a little dated but clean and tidy with a TV that had a mind of it's own !? Switched off whenever we were out of the room, only to be found back on when we returned. We are not easily 'spooked' and staff when asked said it it a common occurrence..... no real idea why lol....made our stay an interesting one

Nice little quirky hotel close to the waters edge, we really enjoyed our stay although it was very quiet and this is the only reason we would not return. Do not take anything away from the hotel as it was lovely.
Other Comments
The WiFi was virtually non existent in the room we stayed in (room2).
