More Reasons to Go

  • The Norfolk Arms Hotel is a Georgian coaching inn that was built by the 10th Duke of Norfolk in the 1780s. The property is on the high street in the centre of the town, a short walk from the River Arun.
  • You could visit Arundel Cathedral, which is around five minutes' walk from the hotel, or WWT Arundel Wetland Centre, a wildlife reserve with nature walks, boat tours, and rare-bird spotting, which is less than five minutes' drive away.
  • Walkers can choose between two riverside trails—follow the River Arun south to the seaside town of Littlehampton, or head north to Amberley, a cute village full of half-timbered cottages. Both towns have railway stations, so you don't need to walk back.
  • The town is on the edge of the South Downs National Park, where you'll find ancient woodlands, stately homes, and market towns, as well as plenty more walking and cycling trails.
  • Goodwood Racecourse and the seaside town of Worthing are both 20 minutes' drive from the hotel.
  • Fishbourne Roman Palace in Chichester is a 25-minute drive from the property. The large palace was built in the first century AD and contains original mosaic floors, reconstructed Roman gardens, and a museum of Roman archaeology.
  • Stuck for Christmas gift ideas? Give a dining, spa, activity, theatre, or hotel experience, and create a memory.
Note: Arundel Castle is closed until April, 2024.

Mostly very good. Only one night. Breakfast fine. Lovely room. Clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful.
Other Comments
We had a lovely room, a bath and loads of hot water. It was noisy filling the bath. Hope we didn’t disturb anyone. A couple of negatives: no bedside lamps. Light over the bed too dim to read by. Odd and disappointing. Also, bathroom extractor either non existent or not working.

Yes the room was lovely, bed was comfortable and nice bathroom. Morning service and breakfast was very good.
Other Comments
The evening meal was at best mediocre. Minimal food, undercooked pork, odd tasting potato wedge. 1/3 glass of wine followed by v disappointing 4 profiteroles with no sauce or cream. Tasted stale and very dry. Music didn’t help v old style jazz on a loop in a dimly lit cold room. I did say I was unhappy with the food to the waiter but he just stared blankly at me and didn’t say anything!
