The hotel is peacefully located in 21 acres of landscaped grounds in the Broads National Park.
Eve's Bar & Lounge has panoramic views of the Broads. It's a great spot for a cream tea, a pre-dinner drink, or a bar snack.
The Crooked Barn Restaurant serves a seasonal menu in a characterful waterside barn. It has a high vaulted ceiling, wobbly beams, and exposed brick walls.
The Daily Telegraph praises the "spacious and pleasantly furnished rooms". It also commends the "decent restaurant set amongst beautiful gardens".
Popular seaside towns Southwold and Great Yarmouth are less than 30 minutes' drive away. The Suffolk Coast National Nature Reserve is also nearby.
Boats are available to hire from Oulton Broad. You could explore the Broads the best way—from the water.

The so called executive room was large but very tatty. Ants appeared several times. Whilst clean, it just needs seriously updating. TV not smart. Taps encased in lime scale. On upside the room was warm and food was good.

Room clean warm, bed comfortable shower wet room tea and coffee facilities. Good English breakfast and varied menu for evening meal, which was nicely cooked fresh. Variety of places to visit in the area.

The staff in the hotel are polite and exceptionally friendly in the bar, restaurant and reception. Would love to nominate Cresenda (not sure if spelt correctly) who goes above and beyond exceptional customer service. Friendly bubbly and proficient. We all had a lovely time and will go again.

Bathroom outdated. Had separate shower cubicle but only high shower head so forced to wet hair; there was a bath with shower hand attachment but no screen or curtain to contain the water. A simple shower curtain would have sufficed.
Otherwise room was a fantastic size and all very clean. Bed comfy too!

Firstly we were particular about our room and they changed it without a murmur. The weather was very cold and they made the new room beautifully warm straight away and it stayed like that. A big thanks for that. The staff were friendly and helpful all the time.
Meals were served in a lovely spacious barn type building. Breakfasts were excellent. The 2 dinners were satisfactory and we had a nice drink in the bar before dinner.

It was an excellent location for us being on the edge of Carlton Marshes which provides wonderful walking on a multitude of very well laid out foot paths and run by the Suffolk Wildlife Trust and with a great centre with cafe. Would go again.

The biggest value of the booking with the £40 towards dinner on the first night. The food was lovely and the portions were generous. However, the service as not pleasant. We waited 15 minutes after being seated to get someone's attention to order our food and drinks. It felt that the hotel was very understaffed generally. We also were unable to shower due to the water being scalding. I informed reception of this on our first morning of our two-night stay and nothing was done to rectify this. Needless to say we did not stay for breakfast the next morning - we were keen to get home and shower.

Great location just a short walk to Oulton Broad and not far from the sea. Fantastic restaurant located in the huge barn and our Superior room was perfect. For winter visitors, it could do with a fire and cosy seating in the bar but otherwise a super stay.

From when we arrived till we left the hotel and staff provided a really enjoyable experience.
The restaurant and food on offer made for a lovely experience.
The hotel is just outside Lowestoft but we visited Southwold which was a pleasant surprise and well worth a visit or stay.
Would use the hotel again.

Careful on the approach road after the narrow bridge it is unmade and has a number of uncomfortable pot-holes, most of which can be avoided if you go slow.

This was an excellent deal. The hotel is lovely & our room was large and very clean. Water was piping hot & shower was a good rain shower. Our room opened onto a small courtyard so you walked down a footpath to the restaurant and bar. Food was great, breakfast freshly cooked to order & evening meals excellent. The restaurant, Crooked Barn is a really lovely room. But what really makes this hotel so great is the staff! Everyone was so polite, friendly and welcoming, a real credit to the hotel. We shall definitely return.
