The hotel is peacefully located in 21 acres of landscaped grounds in the Broads National Park.
Eve's Bar & Lounge has panoramic views of the Broads. It's a great spot for a cream tea, a pre-dinner drink, or a bar snack. You can also order a hamper and have a picnic at one of the many picnic tables within the hotel grounds (supplements apply).
The hotel's Crooked Barn Restaurant serves a menu of seasonal, local ingredients in a characterful 16th-century barn on the banks of Oulton Broad—think high vaulted ceiling, wobbly beams, and exposed brick walls.
Popular seaside towns Southwold and Great Yarmouth, as well as the Suffolk Coast National Nature Reserve, are less than 30 minutes' drive away.
The Daily Telegraph praises the "spacious and pleasantly furnished rooms" and "decent restaurant set amongst beautiful gardens".
Oulton Broad South railway station is 15 minutes' walk from the hotel, making this one of the parts of the Broad National Park that is most easily accessible by train.

The rooms are scattered throughout the grounds so it doesn’t feel like a hotel, it’s more cosy. Nice grounds with a couple of ponds in. Very off the beaten track but a good base to explore from. The staff are tip top. The food is out of this world

The staff made you feel unwelcome and rung us twice once to check we was going for breakfast at 9.34am breakfast ended at 10am and once when checking out as check out was 11am and they rung at 11.01am to say you need to check out. They didn't have enough staff on for the bar in Saturday night to have the bar open and work the wedding that was being held at the venue as well. We have never stayed anywhere where we have been made to feel like an inconvenience and been rushed at all

Very comfortable stay lovely relaxed ambience. The staff are all ultra friendly and helpful. The location was fabulous for us easy walking both to the Oulton Broads Marina one way and Carlton Marshes the other with a cafe and visitor centre. Food good, bar and restaurant just right. The large surrounding gardens well kept and seating outside the bar. The rooms are large and comfortable,
great shower. Not disturbed by noise from other rooms

One of the rooms we booked was not available. Heather on reception was great and sorted us a good room. Breakfast was poor half a tomato, half a slice of fried bread, so few baked beans we counted them, 35. One rasher of bacon, plus sausage and egg.

Lovely very spacious room that suits the character of this hotel. The staff in the restaurant were absolutely 1st class. With lovely grounds around and only a short walk to Oulton Broad it was no more than a perfect short break for us.

The breakfast staff and meal was lovely and the bar staff were very helpful and friendly. The setting was beautiful but overall the room and the restaurant and food spoiled the trip.

Not upgraded although a room was available and it was my birthday, abrupt receptionist, bed old and lumpy, pillows flat and lumpy. Told there would be fish available which was just fish and chips. When we ordered a fillet steak for my birthday meal I asked for pepper sauce (available with different meal) as I don’t like red wine but the chef refused even though I’d offered to pay extra for it. I was eventually allowed it after much back and forth but by then the atmosphere was awful and the meal spoilt. Our lemon tart looked like it had been made my mr Kipling with runny lemon curd type filling so meal was very disappointing.

Very smelly room ! Cesspit ! V old fashioned ex agricultural building even had snails and mildew inside the windows which couldn’t be opened due to the weed overgrowth outside! Reception are inside was ok but outside was awful cobwebs and filthy !

Nice quiet location. Good sized room (6) but a bit tired. Bathroom large but again tired. Only 1 small opening window and after asking for a fan we were given a small inefficient one, not good on hottest week of year!!
Breakfast was adequate but on first morning Tey ran out of yoghurt, still none on day 2, replenished on day 3, but then they ran out of granary bread and could only offer white......come on get your game together, if all else fails ther is a Tesco express at end of road 2 mins max away, not acceptable to be running out of your basic menu requirements.
Gardens are very nice and a lovely 20 min walk into Oulton Broad along the river. Only down side was a strong sewage smell when we arrived, but had thankfully gone by the next morning,

It is in a lovely setting, but to drive down a dirt track to reach the hotel made it difficult to go anywhere in the evening. We have mobility issues, so walking around was difficult, not any fault of the hotel.

We were disappointed that on our third morning we had to have breakfast in Eve’s Bar. People in the bar brought their dogs in at breakfast time. We would not choose to eat in a room that allows dogs in however well behaved they are. Suggest more tables are laid for breakfast in the restaurant.

The experience was great. we were welcomed by Heather on reception. we were given a nice quiet room in the Garden Suite. The staff were exceptional , Carenza the Restaurant Manager went to great lengths to look after us in a very professional yet caring way on both evening meals. The food was very good and of a very high standard. The breakfasts were also good and we were looked after by Angela the events manager in the mornings for breakfasts. I would highly recommend this hotel and its staff.

Thought we had booked a double room but when we got there we actually had an apartment consisting of 2 bedrooms, a large kitchen, a lounge area and a bathroom. Fantastic. The grounds that the hotel was situated in were very pleasant.

Breakfasts were good but the service was a bit slow. We didn’t mind as we were not in any hurry to go anywhere. Evening meals were OK, but nothing exceptional. Starters were good but main courses were a bit disappointing.

We had a great time. The staff are absolutely fantastic and the location is gorgeous. We felt that the room was a bit sad and dated (cracked sink, clogged up shower head) and the restaurant food wasn’t great. Little changes will give big results.
