Why We Love This Deal
Enjoy an ocean-view spa, sensory gardens, and a locavore approach to dining at the Bedruthan Hotel & Spa. This hotel is a favourite among Travelzoo members, who describe it as "magnificent" and the "perfect place for a few days away". A 2-night break for two at this clifftop retreat on Cornwall's north coast is £249, including afternoon tea and use of the spa.
Bedruthan Hotel & Spa is in Mawgan Porth, a small Cornish village between Newquay and Padstow. The property overlooks the bay, and the beach is 10 minutes' walk away.
The hotel has two restaurants. The Wild Café is open throughout the day while Ogo (the Cornish word for cave) offers a more intimate setting for dinner. Both serve dishes created with fresh produce from local farmers and fishermen.
The hotel's cocktail bar and terrace is a good spot to enjoy the sunset with a drink in hand.
Bedruthan's spa facilities include a lavender caldarium, a eucalyptus steam room, a sauna, an indoor pool, and a whirlpool overlooking the ocean. Travelzoo members also get 20% off pre-booked spa experiences, such as the sensory garden or hammam
The hotel hosts an array of creative workshops, such as pottery, calligraphy, and painting with local Cornish artists throughout the year (supplements apply).
The South West Coast Path passes right by the hotel. The National Trust-run Carnewas at Bedruthan is around 30 minutes' walk north and, though the steps to the beach are currently closed, the clifftop trails offer dramatic views of the giant volcanic rock stacks and along the coast towards Trevose Head. Carnewas is also designated as a Dark Sky Discovery Site and a great place to stargaze.

The position of hotel. The Seaview bedroom was large and well appointed. Furniture throughout hotel uncomfortable (retro Scandi ).

Ogi restaurant a disappointment. Worst meal ever and Very expensive. Meal, including bread and fish, extremely salty. I would think the chef is young, newly qualified and trying to impress.

Beautiful stay, love Bedruthan, such a great hotel, location and brilliant staff. 2 nights inc breakfast plus full use of spa facility (treatments extra). Food outstanding, all local and most homemade. Furnished superbly, presented wonderfully. Lots of dogs (not great for us) mainly well behaved. Service excellent. Highly recommend.

It was brilliant. Nite than we expected. It isn’t the most picturesque hotel from the outside but everything else more than made up for it. It was a great deal. Best spa treatments I’ve ever had too! We’ll be back for sure.

Quirky, lovely hotel. Unfortunately, the pool/Spa opening times had been reduced to 8am to 8pm, contrary to the room information. This didn’t allow for an earlier swim from 7am ( previous time), before heading out to walk. Similarly, it was a rush to use the pool /Spa on my return ( previously closing time: 20.00)8

The photo of the spa shows an imitation log fire, with the wind and rain lashing against the window it would have added to the experience if it had been on. other than that it was a wonderful break. Thank you.

Boiler unfortunately broke which meant things were a little chillier in the rooms and hotel and the Jacuzzi was also awaiting a part to be fixed so not as luxurious and warm as normal but staff very apologetic and given small refund in compensation and an extra cost duvet for the bed. Food fantastic as always and view still as breathtaking as ever from the sea view room which is a must if booking.

Third visit disappointing as noisy whirring noise both night's, all night. I used earplugs the second night which didn't help. The steam room & some Spa pool bubbles were broken, which we were told would be fixed on Monday, but weren't. Very busy, & staff all working so hard. We were told we could have moved rooms, but I hoped earplugs would work. Luckily perfect weather, & delicious food.

The hotel is very reliant on the amazing view. It has no exterior curb appeal, looks like a depressing 1970’s school from the outside. It was fine but lacking the finer details that would make it great.
The room was clean but the decor lacking.
They don’t clean the room or replenish the water/ tea coffee etc unless you stay more than 3 nights.
The afternoon tea was very good.
The evening meal in the Wild Cafe was average. The mushroom ragu pasta dish was way over seasoned and so salty I couldn’t finish it.
The breakfast is a bit odd and you pay extra for a cooked plate.
The spa is a bit tired, the jets were only working on one side of the hot tub.
Overall we enjoyed it but wouldn’t rush back.

Not as good as previous visits. Spa jacuzzi not working and steam room out of action. Room not as attentive as usual- dirty tea spoons and no shampoo but two conditioners. Curtains not blocking light out and a very bright light above the window outside

Lovely 2 nights in our double room, with ample space, clean and comfortable with double bed, fresh sheets, duvet, blanket, plenty of pillows and cushions. Two chairs with a small table and tea, coffee (incl. decaf) and fruit teas plus homemade cookies from the onsite bakery.
This hotel really exudes plenty of attention to detail. Very attractive to couples, groups and families with many lounging areas, craft rooms and play areas for kids so adults can enjoy their spaces such as the bar, quiet lounge areas looking out to sea, the Gym and well-being room, a gift shop and a large cafe and separate restaurant. The Spa had a lounge area in addition to wicker seats looking out to sea. There was a large jacuzzi pool and a steam room, sauna and plenty of showers, toiletries, changing cubicles, seating. The decent size pool also had some seating , showers and changing cubicles plus hairdryer and hair straightener, mirrors plus toilets and a costume dryer. We had robes to wear from our room. Towels are given out at the entrance to the Spa/pool.
Low lighting in the evening with some time for adult swim only and some time early morning for adult only swim. We went at meal times when it was very quiet. The pool is open around 7.45am until 8pm at night.
The Artisan breakfast was amazing with such variety and ample choice of bread, pastries, fillings, conserves, granola, yoghurt and fruit compote, fresh fruit, local cheeses and meat. Choice of hot drinks and a couple of juices and homemade muffins and granola bar and more.
The cafe has nibbles, starters, mains and sides and specials, desserts with plenty of variety and vegetarian options. The staff ask if you have any allergies as you are seated. Very welcoming and attentive staff.
Good wine and drinks menu, incl. cocktails.
Didn’t visit the restaurant.
A few activities on each day to suit kids, crafters, disco, quiz, fitness and wellness.
Not too far a walk from the beach, with a very short steep walk back to the hotel. Near a cluster of pubs, eateries by the beach at Morgan porth.
Plenty of walks along the coastline. We walked a mile to the top of Bedruthan steps and a National Trust cafe with wcs. The steps to the beach are closed but fantastic views! Great sunsets!

We had a very good stay. Both restaurants were excellent. Breakfast was a bit of a bun fight but we stayed over half term so it was very busy with kids. Had a problem with noisy family in next room and Louisa was on the case immediately and upgraded us - she was superb.

The spa is excellent and well worth a visit particularly on a cold , wet day. Exterior is looking a bit tired and could do with a lick of paint. Very unusual wines available but price points a bit at the top end.

The location and views of the beach below were fantastic. The outside of the hotel was bleak and uninspiring but inside was quirky with a retro feel. Our bedroom was warm and nicely decorated.
The food was good. We had afternoon tea included and it was lovely.
The spa was modern and had a good sized whirlpool, steam room and sauna as well as plenty of loungers to relax on.
The only negative was the restaurant and bar were uncomfortably cold, particularly in the evening.
The fire had been lit in the relaxation room on our second night so we went in there to get warm.

From the moment we arrived until checkout everyone made us feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. Very clean and tidy. Lovely feel to the hotel. Food was great, huge selection on breakfast buffet. Afternoon tea was excellent, evening meal in Wild Cafe was delicious. Used the indoor pool and Spa facilities, again it was all very clean. The hotel is beautifully situated to be able to sit and watch the sea whatever the weather. Would recommend and hope to visit again.

A large rambling place that looks unprepossessing from its exterior so the interior is a real surprise. Excellent food - although upper end of the price range in Ogo. We preferred the menu and informal atmosphere of Wild Thyme restaurant. The massage by Maria was wonderful. All facilities beautifully clean and well kept. They seem To have thought of most things although signage was quite low key and instructions for the coffee machine in our room were absent. Wonderful room with panoramic sea views. Like a dream.
