More Reasons to Go
- Bedruthan Hotel & Spa is in Mawgan Porth, a small Cornish village between Newquay and Padstow. The property overlooks the bay, and the beach is 10 minutes' walk away.
- The hotel has two restaurants. The Wild Café is open throughout the day while The Ogo (the Cornish word for cave) offers a more intimate setting for dinner. Both serve dishes created with fresh produce from local farmers and fishermen.
- The hotel's cocktail bar and terrace is a good spot to enjoy the sunset with a drink in hand.
- According to The Daily Telegraph, Bedruthan's spa "comes with all the trimmings" and facilities that include a lavender caldarium, a eucalyptus steam room, a cedar sauna with sea views, an indoor pool, and a whirlpool overlooking the ocean. Travelzoo members get 20% off pre-booked spa experiences.
- The hotel hosts an array of creative workshops, such as pottery, calligraphy, and painting with local Cornish artists throughout the year (supplements apply).
- The South West Coast Path passes right by the hotel. The National Trust-run Carnewas at Bedruthan is around 30 minutes' walk north and, though the steps to the beach are currently closed, the clifftop trails offer dramatic views of the giant volcanic rock stacks and along the coast towards Trevose Head. Carnewas is also designated as a Dark Sky Discovery Site and a great place to stargaze.

My husband & I were warmly welcomed on arrival. Our room was ready for us around 3pm & it was a lovely quiet twin room on the second floor. The artisan breakfast was wonderful with a lot of choices. We spent a couple of hours at the spa on both days & enjoyed the swimming pool & the adults only section of sauna, steam room & hydro pool. Everywhere was kept very clean. We found all the staff to be very friendly & helpful. We enjoyed the afternoon tea on our last day & it was excellent.

Could do with coat hooks in the bedrooms! (Nowhere to hang wet coats after a walk)!

The property is very tired, worn and nothing like the photos posted. The service is not good. Our room had a distinct smell. The sink was blocked. It’s very remote and a car is needed as there’s nothing within walking distance

The hotel is beautifully situated on the hill above the bay so the views are fantastic. The staff are attentive without being fussy and the food is great. The room was very comfortable with a lovely big shower and great smelling toiletries. The spa adds a bit of luxury.

Parts of hotel looking a little tired and work needed to stop the bad smell coming through into the front doorway area from the walkway to the spa. Such a shame that you’re greeted with the bad smell and it permeates. It was wet when we visited and I’m sure that exacerbated the problem.
