We loved the room with a view over the estuary and the quality of the food. The staff were great and worked hard to make our stay memorable.

The venue was quiet but to get to Fowey you need to catch the ferry and it doesn't run after 7pm. There were limited car parking spaces and you needed to be able to cope with a fairly steep hill to access your car.

Room cleanliness could have been better. Bathroom very worn out and dated, badly needed updating, sealant and grouting not nice. Bed was old with a spring sticking out the side of it. First night the electric went off in the kitchen which resulted in a 2 hour dining experience and our bedroom had no electrics either. This was rectified. WiFi was very poor and had to be reset often to be able to connect to it. The menu was very expensive £12 for scampi and chips, £3.95 for a selection of baguettes, which is exactly what they were; no fillings at all just bread and butter! Very little atmosphere. Unable to get back to Fowey after 7pm to use their restaurants as ferry stops then! The cost of which is exorbitant £4.60 each way for a 2-3 minute journey😒

Yes. The food was great and reasonably priced. The staff were all pleasant and friendly. It is in a beautiful location - even in the rain!

The room we were given was on the main corridor opposite the dining room and next to a store cupboard, so there was constant traffic past our door. On top of that the whole room smelt of dog. After we complained they did refresh the carpet, but that only masked the smell. They did offer to move us for 1 night, but we would have had to go back to that room. i think it was used as staff accommodation in quiet times hence the smell of dog. We checked out after 2 nights and no-one even bothered to ask us why. It was certainly not the best available room. I rather think the attitude is that we came on a deal and preference was given to full paying customers. Given that this deal probably keeps them going during the winter months I would have expected more attention.
