Lovely room overlooking the lake and grounds. Excellent facilities and large comfortable bed. Good selection of dishes available at breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff.

Minor niggle - a larger duvet would have been beneficial in order for some overlap at each side of the bed!

Lovely room and staff. The arranged birthday surprise cake/candle never happened, nor did the included glass of Prosecco but hey ho! Perhaps I should have reminded them! Breakfast on the second day was better than the first. Loved the location and surroundings and will certainly look for this offer again, especially as it was centrally located between the two couples. Thank you.

Good value voucher. Hotel was quiet but it is January. Not much atmosphere. Cold public areas.

Warmer temperature in the bar would have been better. And a better system for the bathroom light which comes on very brightly in the night. And no fan after a shower. Lovely room though.

We had an excellent stay. Unfortunately there was a heating problem in summerhouse room 6 but we were moved to summerhouse room 3 immediately. Both rooms were very spacious with views of the river and driving range. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast huge and dinners very good. Would definitely recommend Donnington Grove.

Beautiful setting. Staff were excellent, service was very good. Food very good too.Rooms very spacious & bed very comfortable. The facilities in the bathroom were very dated, but functional. In need of a little TLC I would say, but still very clean & aligned with a dated property for authenticity maybe.
A very relaxing experience indeed

An amazing building in the Gothic style. We stayed in an executive double room in the main building. When we walked it, it had that real wow factor. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The only slight downside was the restaurant menu, which is rather ordinary and uninspiring: burgers, pizzas, chilli, fish and chips etc. However, the food was well cooked and enjoyable.

When you enter the gates and motor up the very long drive you realise that you're not going to stay at the local version of a national hotel chain, where all the hotels look the same. As you drive through the golf course, take notice of instructions from any golfers so that your car doesn't get hit as they tee off.
We were in one of the Summer Houses, a few minutes' walk from the main building. If the weather is wet, take a brolly into the room for the short walk to the hotel for meals. There are only two rooms in each Summer House, one for each party and which are spacious and en suite with all you need. Each has its own designated parking spot.
The grounds are spectacular with a lake, stream and lots of wildlife
As part of the Travelzoo deal we had dinner on the first night in the restaurant, although you can also eat in the bar. The food was hot and well-presented but both the restaurant and bar were rather chilly.

We thoroughly enjoyed the two days we had there. We had a room in the summer house which was large. The staff are absolutely lovely, so helpful, and polite.
The rooms were clean and the towels changed each day. Breakfasts were really good, as was the choice of food available. The grounds are great for a good evening walk after the golfers have finished

Had a lovely couple of days at Donnington Grove. Very relaxed atmosphere, with friendly, attentive staff. The room was charming, clean and very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with a good range of both continental and ‘full English’ items (buffet style for most items, but additional items such as kippers were cooked to order, along with various types of egg if you wanted something other than fried). We also had an evening meal at the hotel which was delicious. Good food cooked well. Menu was ‘bistro pub’ type food - just what we wanted and nothing too pretentious!

Look and layout of menu lets hotel down as could be smarter than just laminated page , makes it look a bit like a budget chain , also more variety of meals and maybe changed daily. But otherwise food is outstanding and very reasonably priced.

It's an old Manor house so the decor is a bit tired, but the room & bathroom were spacious & clean. If you want ultra modern look elsewhere, but to relax in the afterglow of a past period in time this is the place.

First impressions the place is falling apart, but look beyond the rotting wooden frames, peeling paintwork and you'll find a wonderfully warm comforting stay among some very nice people. It could do with some money being invested in an overhaul but the staff ad atmosphere, overcome those issues. Has got to be the most comfortable nights sleep I have had in a hotel for years plus some beautiful grounds to look out on.
