We were very impressed with the welcome we received and thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay. The hotel was Covid secure, our room was well equipped and the bed very comfortable. A splendid breakfast!

Booked a two night stay week after 2nd lockdown ended . The Cottage is on the main road running through Brockenhurst with off road parking at the front. The Reception area has sanitising gel etc with a screen at the desk. Our first impression was,, this is nice and that thought continued. Our room was on the ground floor, big enough but remember it is a 17th century cottage so ceilings low and beamed. The ensuite shower room though was very 21st century. Really nice and clean provided with lovely big bath sheets. The brass bed was so comfortable, like sleeping on a cloud. Breakfast was cooked to order and was delicious. Although no self service available because of 'you know what' there was no limit to what was on offer. The staff were so friendly and made us feel very welcome. We particularly enjoyed our Gin Flight, included in the price. The choice was amazing but we left it to Renzo our host for the evening who was very knowledgeable. Along with the gins we enjoyed meat and cheese platters. The location was perfect for our short stay with access to the New Forest through the lovely village. We enjoyed two good meals at both the pub next door to the cottage and at The Snakecatcher around the corner. The food in here is not your basic pub grub and was delicious, well recommended. The Thatched Cottage is a really nice place to stay for a short break in the New Forest area with the sea close by.
Other Comments
Good area for walking. Nice little shops in village. Good eating places locally. 2 minutes from the train station. The only down side was the very squeaky bed in the room above so take earplugs...we never travel without them!)

There was one issue which was dissappointing and that was that the Gin Flight part of the Travelzoo offer stated that this was each, the hotel said that this is always happening and that the offer is for each room not individual person so we had to pay an extra £14 which was unexpected.
