"It was a very difficult decision to make to still go to the hotel due to the coronavirus, our son is at uni in Oxford and as parents we knew he needed to see us. We contacted the hotel who assured us they had put everything in place they could to honour our booking and safety. The staff (two ladies) we're amazing, they were so helpful and considerate even allowing us to eat a takeaway there as we had our dog with us. The hotel is beautiful and charming. The room we had which was dog friendly was very clean, spacious and the bed incredibly comfy. There seemed to be only two other couples there who we didn't see until the next morning. Everyone kept there distance from each other. We are planning to go back when it is safe to do so and enjoy this lovely hotel in its full capacity."

I had a really cosy quiet room in the attic with a fabulous ensuite (bath AND shower and ACRES of hot water), and great facilities within the room. Spotlessly clean, lovely bed linen, comfortable sofa, good tv and a coffee machine. Would have been lovely to stay longer. I will recommend this to my friends and will definitely stay again when I'm back in the area.

Unable to get a VAT invoice on departure. The hotel said it's up to TravelZoo to provide a VAT invoice as payment was made to TravelZoo. This is not the first time it's happened to us when booking through TravelZoo and it's something that TravelZoo really needs to get sorted out asap.

Lovely staff. Lovely hotel. Perfect location and the bonus of parking, although can be a bit tight if people don't park properly. Nice ensuite. Only complaint room was a but cold but heater was provided. Some noise from other rooms but to be expected as old property, didn't spoil our stay. Tea and coffee facility in room with biscuits yum. Breakfast was devine. Perfect poached eggs. Definately be back.
