Location for travelling around good and staff very pleasant and helpful. Food was good.
Other Comments
If we booked again we would pay extra for a better, quieter room and would advise anyone else to do the same. The room was very small, too small to accommodate an easy chair. It was situated above the bar (noisy till late) and overlooking a main road and M6 motorway, therefore the noise from traffic carried on through the night.

Stayed for two nights (Thur & Fri) In February 2019. The weather was horrendous but the hotel was nice warm and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and professional, nothing was too much trouble and there was one or two personal touches by the staff that made all the difference. We upgraded to a bigger room for ten pounds per night but it was well worth it I think. The bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable. There was a bottle of decent wine awaiting us upon arrival and two quality glass bottles of water that were replenished when finished. We took our son's little dog with us, and he had his own bed, feeding bowls, biscuits, poo bags, and clean towel waiting for him also. The rooms are very tastefully decorated with quality furniture, crockery, tea & coffee, and hot chocolate. The food in the restaurant is excellent and not too expensive all things considered. We didn't use the restaurant with having the dog with us, but they always found us a nice table to eat in the bar (they have a little snug with a log burner in it) I honestly can't fault our stay with them, everything was brilliant (apart from the weather) If you like pub type B&B's that are a bit secluded but are within easy reach of larger towns, wildlife reservations (RSPB and the like) have some good local ales and have a couple of brilliant one or two hour canal walks right on the doorstep, then try this one you won't be disappointed.

Quiet location except for banging rear glass door.
Other Comments
Rear glass door needs to be adjusted so it doesn't bounce against the electronic magnet as the noise reverberates loudly throughout the room (Room 8). Beds too hard for us to be a good nights sleep.
