More Reasons to Go
- The Georgian House & Mews is a 4-star B&B well placed for exploring the city by foot. York Minster, York Art Gallery, and Yorkshire Museum are all less than five minutes' walk away. The Shambles, with its quirky timber framed houses and cobbles, is one of the best-preserved Medieval streets in Europe and is less than a 10-minute stroll from the hotel.
- York is famous for its chocolate-making heritage, with plenty of local confectioners and chocolatiers in the city centre. York's Chocolate Story hosts guided tours, demonstrations, and workshops.
- Among York's many museums are the Jorvik Viking Centre, York Castle, and National Railway Museum, which are all approximately 15 minutes' walk from the hotel.
- No visit to York is complete without a walk along its historic city walls. A full circuit takes about two hours and the earthen slopes up to the walls are full of budding daffodils in early spring.

Really well located, a quirky building with good facilities. Good breakfast and a comfortable room. Would have liked a bit more information when booked to know exactly what the room had (would have preferred a shower cubicle to shower over bath). Parking worked well, given proximity to the city centre

Enjoyed the stay. we had a room in the block at the back. Comfy beds and good room facilities. Breakfast is limited but sufficient. Both cooked and continental available. We had 2 cream tea's included in our stay. Hotel is located just outside of the city wall, (very close to york minster) but is within walking distance to all attractions. Parking is expensive and limited (£12/day). Only 2 spots behind the hotel. Any othe cars would need to park at nearby public car parks. Overall a pleasant stay and would recommend to others.

Good location for train station & York Minister plus the lovely shopping area with individual shops & plenty of cafes.
Other Comments
Staff very pleasant. A few minor points regarding our room no. 9; a shelf in bathroom could be useful for our wash bags and not much towel rails. The lead from hair dryer didn’t really meet the good size mirror in bedroom. Next time I will bring my own mirror. But a super location and lovely staff.

Lovely staff, clean room, great breakfast, excellent location for exploring York city centre. Managed to get the one of the hotel's car park spaces round the corner from the hotel (£12 per day). Will definitely be staying there again.
