Warm welcome and fabulous afternoon tea - the savouries vary each time and the whipped cheese and greens tart was the highlight, but everything was delicious. My partner even got 2 plain scones as he doesn't like dried fruit - surprising how often this isn't possible at other venues! We visited with a friend and her grown up kids to celebrate a 60th birthday and all thoroughly enjoyed it!

My friend and I attended the Afternoon Tea in the Garden Room. What an absolute pleasure. A great choice of tea to choose from and the set tea was incredible. We have definitely decided to go again.

An excellent experience from start to finish. We were met at reception by a friendly smiling member of staff who escorted my friend and myself to the Garden Room and seated us on a wonderful chaise to await our turn to be seated. It's rare now to find this sort of personal service.

Indeed the whole experience was wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable. Really excellent food, especially the battenburg! So while it seems pricey compared to afternoon tea at a garden centre or even M&S, it's on a different level of quality. A delightful treat,

After a pleasant walk on Bolton Abbey estate, the afternoon tea with my sister and mother was delicious and perfect. Being vegetarian I was pleasantly surprised at my offerings which was beautifully presented in every way. I enjoyed it immensely!

Shiny and sparkling clean cutlery and crockery with a finely starched white napkin. Our afternoon tea was ample, tasty, delicious and appealing. I have nothing but praise for our delightful visit for myself and my two grownup children who also thought it was decadent and wonderful venue.

Nothing was to much trouble, there was a lovely calm atmosphere. Danni was very helpful and told us about a lovely walk to the Abbey and river. The food was well presented and tasty. We even took some home. A really enjoyable afternoon.
The Afternoon Tea was excellent. A good choice of food, plentiful and served in pleasant surroundings.

Welcomed from the moment we arrived . Delicious food in warm comfortable surroundings . We were a party of four vegetarians and we were well catered for. Great choice of teas & coffee and loved the camomile infusion .Exceptional value for money and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend .
Looking forward to returning at a later date .

Very pleasant environment but the food was somewhat disappointing, the sandwiches could have more flavour and filling and the cakes were a bit stoggy and very sweet. The plain scone was not pleasant to eat. Not the best afternon tea I've had.

Reception staff taking our 'phone booking were pleasant and helpful; food plentiful; cocktail bar staff equally helpful (although very busy and slow service);

1. Due to the weather the dining room was not in use so we had to eat in the cocktail bar. The seating and tables were armchair type chairs with a small table, more suitable for relaxing round rather than being sitting at a dining table. We had to lean forward in the chairs and reach forward to put food onto our plates then lean backwards into the chair to eat. 2. The tables themselves were small, a second one had to be brought to hold the food, so we had to stretch out to reach the food in addition to moving forwards and backwards in our chairs. Not at all a comfortable or relaxing experience. 3. The room was full, both diners and hotel guests having a drink, just two staff on duty, they were very pleasant and hard working but inevitably service was slow. 4. The overall ambience in the room was not what we expected, more suitable for drinking rather than relaxed dining. 5. Food was plentiful and tasty, however no more than would be expected at similar establishments.

All the staff were warm and friendly, we arrived a few minutes early but this was no problem. There were a few people already there, but everyone was spaced out so there was some atmosphere but also privacy. Great choice of drinks and the afternoon tea was very good. Presented beautifully and there was enough room on the table for everything without it being overcrowded. The savouries were a bit different (savour scone and arancini) but really good. the sandwiches were tasty, but could have done with a bit more filling. Cakes and scones were all fabulous. We brought a couple of scones and 3 of the cakes home as we couldn't finish them - they were happy to box them up for us. Offered more tea and coffee whilst we were there.
