The reception and restaurant were very comfortable and the restaurant staff were very good.
Other Comments
The room was very cold and in need of refurbishment, the bathroom sink had a large crack in it and water leaked from it. We had to ask for an extra heaterbto be put into the room.
Most of the people staying at the hotel were workers from Yorkshire water and NHS because in the hotel grounds are training schools for both lots of workers.
The room was situated in the furthest part of the hotel, when there were other rooms closer to the hotel amenities.
The car park was quite full and very dirty as it was just hard earth and resulted in footwear being muddy, which was transferred to the hotel reception.

Lovely staff. Very attentive and professional. Large hotel, sadly only about 10 guests, so no atmosphere at all. Also large parts of the hotel were not heated and our stay was during a very cold snap, so it wasn't always comfortable.
Highly recommend the food in the restaurant and the breakfast was more than adequate.

Staff a little rude , told us to move out of breakfast dining while still talking at 10 pm They said setting up tables for lunch. Had a poor evening meal did complain while eating it , staff said he would tell Chef but no mention of different meal. Did complain to duty manager but no satisfaction.

Staff very courteous, friendly and professional. Hotel and rooms were clean and had everything we needed.
Other Comments
On our last night there had been an external power cut overnight which proved problematic with breakfast but the staff dealt with it efficiently and with good humour and we were all “fed and watered” satisfactorily.

Staff were faultless, polite & friendly, smart & couldn’t do enough for the guests. The hotel was clean & comfortable & had a good atmosphere about it. Thoroughly enjoyable stay & good value for money. We only ate at the restaurant one night but the menu was good & the food fantastic.
Other Comments
The downside for us was that the Bird of prey centre was closed during our stay & because we didn’t eat in the restaurant the first night we forfeited our free bottle of wine.

We did not actually get to take up the booking. My partner became ill during the week so unable to travel and I did not want to go on my own, given the severe weather conditions . I did notify the hotel but I was not allowed to rebook much as I'd have liked to.
