Yurt was really lovely with lots of nice touches - robes for the hot tub, fluffy towels and s’mores kit for our first night. The setting is stunning. Staff were super friendly and helpful. We loved our stay and would like to return.

We had a wonderfully relaxing time staying in the Yurts at Swinton Bivouac. We had wanted to experience staying in one for a long time & this offer allowed us to do that. Everything we needed was thought of & provided. In the communal kitchen there was a small freezer with ice blocks in it, a fridge shared between about 9? Yurts so don't bring too much food to fit in it! A toaster, kettle, big gas BBQ, 4 gas rings in 2 sets of 2, washing up facilities with hot water. In the Yurt there were a couple of saucepans, frying pan, utensils for cooking, cutlery, chopping board & a cool box which you could put provided ice blocks in out of the communal kitchen freezer. So you take your own equipment from your Yurt to the communal kitchen & cook what you want. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Loved the beautiful Yurt interior, the bed was very comfortable & the wood burner made it so cosy. We didn't want to leave!

We hired mountain bikes for half a day & did one of the circular road routes, enjoyed seeing the countryside but I'm not a proper cyclist so had a few uphill pushing the bike sessions! There were mountain bike routes in the woodland for the more adventurous. We walked to the druid stone site, really impressive for a folly. We also walked round the hotel grounds seeing the kitchen gardens, deer park, falconry centre & the lakes. Beautiful grounds. We ate lunch in the Bivouac cafe on the day we left & had breakfast too, food was very tasty & the portion sizes were good. Can't wait to go again. Staff were really friendly & helpful & the estate setting beautiful. Lots of walks you can do.
