Spectacular setting, the hotel itself is a work in progress by the current owners and will be stunning when all the refurbishment is complete. We were shown a couple of the completed bedrooms and there are 5*. The plans for the rest and the public rooms are very exciting and will respect the beautiful building. We stayed in a bedroom which had everything we needed, a very comfortable bed and some nice touches but not to the style and luxury that is yet to hit these rooms!
The gardens are large and beautiful with lots of vantage points to admire the views.
Great Team of friendly helpful staff. Delicious dinner and breakfast with good choices using locally sourced produce. Staff were knowledgeable about the wine list.
We look forward to revisiting for the food and to see the various stages of refurbishment when it will surely become a very special place to stay.

We’ve been to Penmaenuchaf several times before it was taken over by Seren. We booked the deal for Valentines Day which was a Wednesday. Our room was lovely with a white leather sofa looking out over the balcony to the Mawddach Estuary. The weather was awful! It was lovely to relax with a view and some homemade cookies. Dinner was great as was breakfast. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We had a great stay and will definitely be returning.
Other Comments
We thought the wine list was slightly overpriced.

The hotel was beautifully dressed for Christmas and in fact we were the only guests for dinner and breakfast. This made it very special for us as we had a series of stunning rooms to ourselves. Dinner was fabulous, amuse bouches, small but delicious sea trout, rich venison for myself and Welsh lamb for my partner, a malted chocolate tart and cheese and biscuits. Breakfast was served at the table: Bircher muesli, yogurt, french toast with bacon and maple, egg with smashed avocado - fabulous. It's a great deal but the weather meant we missed the gardens and workmen were refurbishing the rooms. However the food and setting in a magical valley meant we'll definitely be back

From the moment we arrived were made to feel so welcome by Kathy the receptionist. The 5 course tasting menu was worth every penny, it was so well presented and the flavours of each dish were a treat for the taste buds. All the staff were the friendliest we've come across which was so nice.
