A very warm welcome on arrival, we were ushered into the bar area where we had a drink, were served canapés and perused the menu. We were taken to our table by very pleasant waitress, given a pre-starter along with homemade wholemeal/foccasia bread and butter with a pianist playing throughout our meal which was unexpected. The roast beef and pork we had were very generous portions with great selection of vegetables and gravy. Delicious desserts too. It was certainly above average, great value and we will return.

A lovely hotel but dated in style of serving dinner and decor.

A lively meal but I would have liked to have been seated instead of having to sit in the bar, have a drink and then have my order taken before heading to the table. This approach seems very dated and would put me off visiting again. Staff were great but not all seemed very mechanical.
