First time visit to Thoresby Hall. Staff were lovely & the afternoon tea we had was delicious with plenty of choice. Thoresby Hall does seem popular with older clientele but the place itself is beautiful & I would definitely recommend

Mums and daughters met up for celebrations. The House is very large and absolutely beautiful. The staff so helpful, but not at all intrusive. We hope to visit again!

Although this was our first visit to Holme lacy House for afternoon tea it certainly won't be our last. My wife and I have now tried most places in Herefordshire and we both thought that this was best yet. The House and grounds are very well kept and gave a nice relaxing atmosphere. The food and service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble and the Staff made you feel extremely welcome. Thank you for a great afternoon.

Went as a party of six on a dull, damp day. However thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon. As before, the food was very good (despite a crumbly scone!). Ambience and service was also of a high standard.

The Afternoon Tea experience was very enjoyable. The room was spacious and impressive as you’d expect in a place like Thoresby Hall.
Other Comments
It was our first visit to Thoresby Hall and we were quite shocked at how busy everywhere was, people queuing to get into certain rooms. We were relieved that the room we were in was a much quieter, calmer place. Some of the decor was decided tatty, threadbare carpets and uneven broken floor tiles. It certainly wasn’t a good advertisement for a ‘luxury Warner Hotel’.

The hotel is set in lovely grounds. The staff were friendly, polite and very helpful. Unfortunately aspects of the afternoon tea let the experience down. The (huge) scones were dry as was some of the bread for the sandwiches. The sandwiches were not the usual elegant finger sandwiches but rather large and chunky. Cakes did not seem ‘home made’ . Not quite what we were hoping for having had many afternoon teas in various settings.

On leaving the afternoon tea experience we enquired whether we could walk to the museum & shopping area & were directed to the location.p by staff. Unfortunately due to bad weather we decided to drive. After parking we proceeded to the museum & courtyard which were both closed on Mondays. On attempting to exit the car park we had to pay £3 for a token to exit. Not the best way to end our experience. Had the staff informed us the area was closed we would not have attempted to explore the area.

Lovely afternoon tea. The sun was shining so we could be outside, where there was plenty to do. We particularly enjoyed having a swing, we felt like we were kids again.

This is a general comment around afternoon teas-there is too many sweet treats. It would be better if there was more savoury items ie mini quiche/sausage roll. But I know this is just my opinion

Excellent Afternoon Tea, very good value for money, proper sandwiches not tiny fingers and lots of them. Scones and cakes also excellent but the sandwiches are the stand-out. The house itself is stunning and well worth doing the tour, very historic and haunted! Highly recommended.

The cakes were quite dry especially the chocolate tart & carrot cake.
Paying for dry cakes was very disappointing.
I did tell the waitress who said sorry we obviously didn’t eat them.

We were greeted by Danny, our server for the afternoon tea. He was just so lovely. Very attentive, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. He obviously enjoys his job and is a great asset to Thoresby Hall. I had rang ahead and requested dietary changes to the menu for myself. It took over 2 days to get through and tbh the staff member wasn't that helpful. So I did go with an open mind, but everything on the day was perfect.

The Afternoon Tea at Littlecote House was delious and way more food than any one of the three of us could manage. They staff were more than happy to pop the surplus food into take away boxes to enjoy at home and very obvious this was a regular request!
All the staff were lovely and our waitress from Romania was very sweet, attentive and delightful.
Allow plenty of time if you like exploring the gardens and Roman mosaic in the grounds.

All the staff were lovely and our waitress from Romania was very sweet, attentive and delightful.
The only (very) small issue was finding our way from the 'day visitor' car park to the main hotel building. The signage seemed incomplete, pointing us to the oldest part of the building (the unmanned museum rooms) but nothing to point us to the hotel proper.

When they serve the afternoon tea, you will notice it is full of sandwiches, and cakes.
They let you know that they will box up what you can't eat. We took two boxes home of sandwiches and cakes, and thoroughly enjoyed them later that evening.

Afternoon tea one of the best . Lovely hotel and grounds. Unfortunately Internet was down and couldn't make card payments and did not take cash! They need to be prepared for such things or they will lose sales and have disappointed customers. It was only thanks to a resident offering to pay that we were able to have coffee.

Afternoon tea in a lovely room overlooking the grounds. Sandwiches were very nice. The scones were not great. The fruit scone was really salty and the savoury cheese scone was almost too salty. I wondered if they'd used the same dough for savoury and sweet before adding the cheese. The cakes were ok, nothing special unfortunately.

We were staying at Studley Castle for a two night break and saw this offer. It's cheaper than getting afternoon tea in the hotel and comes with a glass of Prosecco!
