Why We Love This Deal
Marie Claire describes Great Scotland Yard Hotel as an "unmissable, luxurious landmark". Now a 5-star bolthole, the former HQ of the Metropolitan Police is steeped in London history. Step inside its storied walls for a classic afternoon tea and learn more about the iconic property on a guided tour. Travelzoo members pay £55 per person.
What's Included
- Classic afternoon tea for one
- A guided tour of the hotel
- Valid from 12–6pm Monday–Friday until 30 November, 2026. You can visit Saturday–Sunday for an additional £5 per person, payable direct. The tour lasts 15–20 minutes and will be taken after the first course of afternoon tea
More Reasons to Go
- Great Scotland Yard was the original HQ of the Metropolitan Police. Jack the Ripper suspects were interviewed here and Charles Dickens also shadowed officers that worked at the property.
- The building was also used by the Ministry of Defence in both world wars and once acted as the London residence of the Scottish Royal Family.
- During your visit, you'll get a guided tour of the property. Spot 19th-century policing artefacts throughout, including vintage uniforms, whistles, and truncheons.
- If you're in the mood for some more sightseeing after your tour, the property is in a great spot for it. Big Ben, Downing Street, and Trafalgar Square are all within 10 minutes' walk.

Very different menu so not very filling. Only received one quarter of a sandwich. Lots of food themes to a nod for Scotland Yard which were very clever and entertaining. Staff were fantastic and the small parlour was very cosy and comfortable. Tour was very interesting and the building as a hotel was stunning.

The food was absolutely amazing and at that price so much better than others including the big hotels.
The service was very slow ,we had to ask for our tea when we had been waiting about 15mins.
We missed out on the tour when we arrived i asked about the timing of the tour and I was told they couldn't do one until 2pm ,we had booked 12 o'clock tea so we could have plenty of time before our matinee. When I was paying the bill I said I was disappointed to miss out on the tour the head waitress was summoned and said we could have had it anytime.
The food and the decor are amazing

Very long wait for the afternoon tea. The staff were very apologetic and said the kitchen was busy. I don't think they should offer 12pm booking if the kitchen is not ready.
