More Reasons to Go
- The Keswick Country House Hotel occupies an elegant building set in four acres of tended gardens. It's only a few minutes' walk from the charming centre of Keswick, and has previously welcomed guests including Queen Elizabeth II and Kaiser Wilhelm II.
- The hotel scores an impressive 99% approval from Travelzoo members who have rated their stay. The "excellent location", "helpful staff", and "fabulous" meals score particularly highly.
- Public areas include a lounge and bar area with contemporary design, and a restaurant with views of the gardens.
- There are a host of walking routes on the hotel's doorstep. The property is next to a disused railway line from Keswick to Threlkeld that has been converted into an accessible walking and cycling route.
- You could also take a circular route around nearby Derwentwater and watch the fells reflecting off the lake surface, or—for something more challenging—make your way up Skiddaw, the third-highest mountain in England.

Very nice room. Great breakfasts and very good evening meal. Only a short walk into the centre of Keswick. Weather could have been better, but that’s the Lake District for you.

Very friendly hotel; great location: close to town centre and at the start of the old Keswick to Threlkeld railway walk/cycle ride. The food was varied and very good. Very quiet and a great night's sleep!

The only thing we didn't like was the background music in the dining room.
