The Daily Telegraph praises the "beautiful" grounds—Eastwell Manor occupies 62 acres within a 3000-acre estate in the Kent Downs.
After falling into disrepair, the hotel was rebuilt in the 1920s and still retains many original features including stone doorways and a grand wooden staircase.

Offered a pokey table in a dark dingy corner behind the entrance door - totally unsuitable and was unacceptable.!!
Eventually sat outside on our own and forgotten about by the staff.
Food was good but service and setting was not what we’ve experienced in the past.

Eastwell Manor is a lovely old house in an equally lovely park. Inside, it’s quiet midweek so we had a choice of seating. Glass of champagne was delightful, but choice of tea is a bit sparse compared to orher hotels I’ve visited.
The tea appeared promptly and the wait staff were very attentive. There was plenty of food to fill us up, scones were amazing although the sandwiches didn’t have a lot of filling. However, the dainty cake selection made up for that and with one or two left, we were able to tale the home in a little carry box.
Will definitely return.

The hotel is stunning inside and out. The surroundings are peaceful and tranquil, we went for a walk around the grounds after tea.
We were welcomed by a very pleasant waitress who gave us a choice of table. The room had beautiful wood panelling and an ornate ceiling, comfortable armchairs, a linen tablecloth and napkins. I had informed the receptionist at the time of booking that my husband doesn’t eat fish, a separate plate of sandwiches had been prepared for him.we were to spend as much time as we wished having our tea, all the staff were attentive and polite. Our experience exceeded our expectations.

We chose the Afternoon Tea experience to celebrate our wedding anniversary on the day. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making it a memorable and very happy occasion.

The occasion was a disaster. It was supposed to be a celebration but we came away feeling utterly disappointed and angry. We had to wait half an hour to be seated then a further 45 minutes to make our simple order. When the food arrived the serving was less than generous. A grumpy waitress spilt tea on my friend’s expensive trousers and didn’t apologise, she just walked away. The first bill was ridiculous and was adjusted after I pointed this out. It was a horrible experience.

Difficult to get thru by phone to book. No one to greet us on arrival. We hovered around for a good 5 minutes before we saw someone to ask. Waiting staff appeared to be nervous/apprehensive/inexperienced. Food was reasonable. The sweet plate was mostly mousse type desserts , rather than the cake style I was expecting. This was disappointing. Scones were delicious! Champagne was delicious and cold enough.

On arrival I spoke to the waitress and pointed out I did not want smoked salmon or mustard with ham. I ended up with an egg sandwich and cheese and chutney. Wondered why I couldn,t have had ham without the mustard. No homemade sponge cake all seemed bought fancy cakes. Bit disappointing (scones were very good)

The main course was not hot only luke warm although it tasted very good. We waited an hour for our dessert with no apology for the delay which was poor for a hotel if this standard!

The outside area had lovely views and was very relaxing but we couldn't seem to get served out there, their app wasn't working and any drinks ordered inside just didn't appear so we left.

Sadly there was no disabled parking marked out. Once there we mentioned it only to be told we could have parked in the courtyard but there are no signs saying this and it was a bit late once we were inside the manor.

as ordered a bottle which was in a chiller bucket

Mix up paying the Bill, had to go to receptionist, then, to bar and finally back to restaurant! Can’t seem to coordinate the payment on one computer at reception.
Price list for wine send via email was less then the price quoted on wine list on the day! Needs updating
Some Members of staff seemed rather flustered at reception when asked about dietary requirements and not very professional.
Seats in dining area very uncomfortable and curtains need warmth ..... velvet red carpet installation would make a major difference as quite drafted
Ladies toilets- paper on floor and water splash back on worktops and floor area
Overall good experience just needs tweaking in some areas .

It's not fully accessible for a wheelchair. Dinning room down 3 stairs which are steep. Staff very helpful and put ramps down, only problem no WC near dinning room have to go back up the steps which means staff have to put the ramps back up.

The setting and grounds are lovely, we have been there before when it was owned by a different company. You were made to feel special in those days. Now it was like being at a Beefeater! The roast beef was very nice but poorly presented.

We arrived at 12 30 when we had booked for but the tables were not laid and we were told to wait in the gardens (which were Lovely so not a problem) eventually our table was ready, but all through the meal the service was very poor or non existent although there were plenty of staff.

We had a 3 course Sunday lunch and all courses were very pleasant, however as friendly as the staff were they were shabby and unclean which was quite off putting. Also the table wasn’t fully prepped as there was mess on the tablecloth and the small vase of flowers was mucky with dirty stagnant water. These are all, in my opinion, easy and inexpensive fixes and it was a shame that such a beautiful place and surroundings was let down by the unprofessional attire of the staff.
Another note to highlight was there wasn’t sufficient parking or any overflow signage so we had to park next to the Biffa bins in the staff car park. Again not what you expect at such a prestigious place.

Took ages to be served drinks… my husband asked for a Jack Daniels which they couldn’t find then he asked for a glass of Merlot which they also didn’t have.

Service was too slow, one person taking the food/drinks order, had to ask for the wine list and waitress staff didnt seem very happy, not sure if its because of age as they were quite young, however the food & venue were amazing, which makes you want to come back.

Excellent food although gravy was sparse considering the menu stated the meal came with 'lashings of gravy'. Cocktails over-priced. Service was poor:- do not expect to have to order dessert before eating the main meal, had to call waiting staff each time we wanted something as nobody was checking patrons were okay, do not expect to have to go to the till to pay in a restaurant of this nature especially as the waiter then had no idea which table we were seated at & therefore which bill was ours. Do not agree with automatic service charge being added to bill especially as waiters did nothing more than bring food to table.
