Broadstairs, where you can find sandy Blue Flag beaches, contemporary art galleries, ice cream parlours, and more, was a favourite haunt of Charles Dickens. It is now home to The Yarrow, a Grade II-listed building 10 minutes' walk from the Kent coast, that opened as a 4-star hotel in 2016. Save up to 44% on overnight stays there until 30 April, 2022, when you and a friend can dine on a 7-course tasting-menu meal with matching wine, then stay in a Deluxe Double room, for £189.

  • Overnight accommodation in a Deluxe Double Room, with breakfast, for two people

  • For £165, stay in a Deluxe Double Room with breakfast and get a 25-minute massage or facial each (this deal does not include the tasting-menu meal or wine)

More Reasons to Go

  • The Yarrow is housed in a Jacobethan-style building that was constructed in 1894 as a place for children to convalesce. It was extensively renovated prior to opening in 2016, while certain features such as extra-wide corridors (to provide the children with room to play while they recovered) have remained intact
  • The property is close to the promenade and Victoria Gardens overlooking Viking Bay — a perfect spot to take in the sea views
  • Broadstairs and the surrounding area offers a lot to do, even as the days get shorter and colder. The Broadstairs Food Festival takes place in early October and you can watch the annual coastal fireworks display in November
  • Dickens House Museum is a 10-minute walk from The Yarrow; the cottage in which it is housed was the inspiration for Betsey Trotwood's home in David Copperfield
  • Margate is approximately 15 minutes' drive from the hotel and is widely regarded as the epitome of a British seaside town, home to amusement arcades and a retro funfair, Dreamland. You'll also find vintage shops, a distinct cultural vibe, and the Turner Contemporary Gallery
  • The Yarrow's executive head chef Ben Williams has years of experience at Michelin-starred restaurants and aims to use locally sourced seasonal ingredients in the regularly changing menu
  • Stuck for Christmas gift ideas? Give a dining, spa, activity, theatre or hotel experience, and create a memory

Travelzoo Tip: We have also negotiated a spa treat at the Yarrow. The Classic Package, including an express massage and facial, a glass of bubbly, and access to the sauna, steam room, and Jacuzzi, is now £49 instead of the usual £70

Children are welcome. Additional z-beds and sofa beds (maximum one per room) are £15 per child, including breakfast. Pets are not allowed. There are 40 free parking spaces on site. Broadstairs train station is less than a mile from the hotel. The Yarrow's accessibility information can be found here.

Near fautless. Staff amazing for young. Well trained and keen. Problems with hard water, fixed shower rose has calcite problems, as has the entire hotel. I spent a while trying to move the rubber nozzels but they were mainly too stuck to service. Acid baths are best. Cleaning staff must hate the hard water leaving it's residue everywhere. What you need is a capable water softner that affects the whole hotel only leaving the hard water for drinking etc. Otherwise lovely experience.

The gluten free bread with the tasting menu was fabulous, made in your own kitchens apparently.
