The room was supposed to be a Superior Room but was as far from that standard as is possible and the food was inedible.

We were apprehensive as my sister had stayed there a while back and sounded not so keen, but there has been a refurb since. We had a great room, the staff were lovely, and it was a perfect centre from which to explore.

Our hotel room No 23, was a large Vicorian room on the front overlooking the sea which was very clean with comfortable beds. The staff we're very helpful and friendly and the food... well my husband and I couldn't fault it. Gold star Esplanade!!

This was en excellent deal for our three night stay which included a three course dinner and drinks on our first evening. The food was so good that we ate at the hotel for our other two evenings. Can recommend this hotel.

Enjoyed visit - staff helpful and room with sea view was good. Our evening meal in Harrys Brasserie was very good. The breakfast was rather disorganised and would suggest that the hotel management take a look at how this can be improved as it is annoying to wait a long time for service when somebody else who has just arrived in the restaurant receives immediate service.

The Royal Esplanade Hotel is ideally located on the seafront at Ryde. It is within walking distance of the main town centre and is ideal for the ferry, also the Hovercraft, trains and bus terminal for the island. Although the hotel is quite old and is need of renovation, the warm welcome of the staff and quality of the food more than compensate.

The deal we received was amazing for three nights stay, including many extras thrown in.

Yes, the staff were excellent.
Other Comments
The rundown appearance of the hotel. Noise from the hovercraft buses and trains directly opposite the hotel.

Great staff and service. Too big portions on the food

Helpful reception staff when booking. Large sea view room opposite the hovercraft - not too noisy and comfortable. Good location. Lovely selection and food for our three course meal.
Other Comments
Very slow breakfast staff and service particularly on our last morning - I did not get my cooked breakfast although my husband did! Suggest you switch to a buffet style breakfast for ease and speed.

Good typically British hotel! Staff friendly and helpful. Food good

The staff, food, and service were brilliant, the room was large and clean, inly drawback was right opposite Hovercraft terminal, so very noisy from early morning. The hotel is still being done up, and the room we had was in need of some new furniture, e.g. dressing table, bedside tables, TV stand. But bathroom was lovely, but the heated towel rail was exceedingly hot and didn't have a thermostat.
Other Comments
Harrys Bistro evening meal was excellent, and way too much food. Really good value for money. Difficult to say if we would go back, probably, nut not in a room on the front! Same goes for recommending it, not on the front.
