The resort is on a hill and has wonderful views. The truffle hunting was so educating and a fun !! Cignella was perfect for our visit to Italy.

We loved everything about Cignella Resort. The apartment was spacious and comfortable, the breakfasts were fantastic, the setting and scenery were beautiful, the pool was wonderful. Enrico, the manager of the resort went out of his way to assist us with getting to the local restaurant, and the train station.

This is a beautiful property in the heart of Tuscany. A short drive to Pienza, Montelcino and Montepulciano. The grounds of the resort are beautiful, the staff is amazing and the views are to die for. My family had a 2 bedroom Villa and a 3 bedroom Villa. Both were enormous with more than enough space inside and beautiful outdoor patios. My one complaint is that the villas could use a little maintenance. There is a beautiful breeze but since the windows don’t have screens, we couldn’t leave them open at night without having bugs come in. The bathrooms are large and well equipped, but the drains don’t accommodate the flow of water from the shower heads so you either have to turn the water off to let it drain mid shower, or have a flood. We loved our stay there and with a few tweaks, they could be running a 5 star resort. Breakfast was good. Also loved the truffle hunt, truffle dinner and wine tasting that came with the Travelzoo deal. I would highly recommend Cignella and hope to return again in the future.

We purchased the 5 night special which included the truffle hunt and wine tour. When we drove into the property we were disappointed by the resort it was a bit run down looking. Our accommodations were exceptional with a beautiful view. Our first 2 dinners were delicious and breakfast was good. Our truffle hunt was a wonderful experience and the dinner that followed was amazing!
We experienced car trouble and could not attend our wine tour and although the staff assisted with our car situation we could not rebook another tour. We did not receive any compensation for the tour or even a dinner or bottle of wine. Very disappointing since it was in our package.
The staff works very hard but they do not have enough working to accommodate the guests. Our last dinner was not the usual great food and we sat for 1.5 hours before receiving any food.
We would recommend this resort because the location is perfect but a car is required! Good luck to Enrico and yank you for your assistance.

Staff at the Wine tour included in the Cignella package were less truthful. Also the wine overpriced. I happened to buy the identical bottle from the local market at 1/6 of the asking price offered at the wine tour.

Cignella Resort is absolutely beautiful, in a rustic, natural way. Perfect place to soak up the sun, drink amazing wine and make new friends. A lot of people we met here used the resort as a "meeting place" at the end of the day, and because it's centrally located in the Tuscan hills, it proved to be a great place to relax by the pool after driving and exploring all day. Although we didn't drive, we made it work, as we weren't touring around at all, and just used our four days at Cignella to completely chill. I do recommend having a vehicle if you want to see anything outside of the resort. The staff is exceptional, and work very hard to meet your every need. One thing I want to strongly suggest: Stop at the market and grab lunch food and snacks, including water. And if you are expecting this resort to be an "all inclusive" resort, please remember that you will not be waited on, hand and foot! This is part of its amazing charm... just enjoy your surroundings, walk around, and enjoy the amazing breakfasts and dinners. Where else do we eat cheesecake for breakfast?! This resort is extremely charming, and it disturbed us to see a few "entitled" comments about it. They have gone above and beyond to help make our stay fabulous. We will definitely return here!

Although the place is little hard to find (good luck without a GPS), the staff is warm and welcoming, always ready to help. It’s truly a Tuscan experience. We will go back.

This is not really a “wine resort” per say although they do provide some wines on their menu. There are plenty of wineries in nearby towns and it is quite convenient to go visit them. The truffle hunting activity is quite a rewarding experience. One piece of advice is that visitors should have their own car to go around.
