Why We Love It
- TAASA Lodge is an upmarket safari camp less than five kilometres from Klein's Gate, the entry point to the scenic northeastern part of the UNESCO-listed Serengeti National Park. It is a vast, 1.5 million-hectare plain with a varied habitat of grasslands, savannah woodlands, and riverine forests
- The area's resident wildlife is abundant all year, however the best months to visit are July-October, when you have a good chance of seeing the the annual migration of animals, "one of the greatest natural spectacles of the world" (Condé Nast Traveller): millions of herbivores descend on this corner of the game reserve, with large numbers of predators stalking them
- Game drives are conducted by professional rangers in open vehicles that guarantee full views for all participants. They take place twice a day, early morning and evening, when wildlife tend to be the most active. You can join bush walks, visit a nearby Maasai community, or go hot air ballooning with an expert guide (chargeable)
- Your spacious tent measures 50 square metres. It's raised on a solid stone base, the interior is decorated in earthy tones, and it has electricity and an indoor bathroom. The outdoor deck offers spectacular views over the valley and the savannah beneath. So does the small infinity pool at the main lodge
- An outstanding 99% of Tripadvisor reviews rate this property very good or excellent
