More Reasons to Go
- The hotel’s restaurant has been awarded two AA Rosettes for culinary excellence.
- The house has close ties to Agatha Christie. The famous novelist often stayed here and spent many hours writing in the summerhouse. In tribute, the hotel's public areas are decorated in an art-deco style. Letters written by Christie are also on display for guests to read.
- Broads National Park is around 30 minutes' drive away. It's Britain's largest protected wetland, encompassing more than 60 open areas of water and seven rivers. Boating is a popular pastime, but there are lots of walking and cycling routes too.
- The coastal towns of Sheringham and Cromer are within 25 minutes' drive. Wander along Cromer's long sandy beach and go crabbing on the pier. Or potter around Sheringham's colourful beach huts, charming tea rooms, and independent cafés.
- Norwich is around 30 minutes' drive away. Discover the city's magnificent cathedral, impressive Norman castle, and thriving markets.

Couldn’t fault this hotel. Staff and management friendly, courteous and efficient. Room and public areas beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The food was out of this world. Excellent value for money. We will be back.

We tried The Beechwood Hotel which included a 7 course taster menu with wine flight. As we wanted to visit our friends in Brampton we decided to stay for two nights. ( we live 4 hours away).
The hotel takes you back to the class and service of the 1940’s. The link with Agatha Christie was a particular draw for my wife who loves the books written by this writer.
The room we chose included a four poster bed and slipper bath roll top bath. The room and the whole hotel was in traditional 40’s style. It was comfortable throughout.
The taster menu was fantastic and absolutely delicious and oh so much.
Everyone involved with the hotel was so professional and polite. Nothing was too much of a problem and the service first class. If we return to the Norfolk area we will definitely go back to the Beechwood.

If you intend trying the 7 course, don’t have anything after your breakfast as you will need all the space for the marathon of delicious food.

All of the staff were very helpful, greeting us in the car park with an umbrella to shield us from the rain. Bags were taken to our room as we checked in and we were escorted around the hotel proudly showing the history of previous owners and famous residents.
